We are so excited to share that Dr. Hamilton is joining our team this July!

Dr. Hamilton is a board-certified electrophysiologist, specializing in the heart's electrical system - the complex network that controls your heartbeat and keeps your heart in rhythm. When that system isn't working properly, it can cause conditions like atrial fibrillation (AFib), arrhythmias, or other irregular heartbeat disorders that require specialized care.

With expertise in advanced ablation techniques, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, Watchman left atrial appendage closure device insertion, and leadless pacemaker insertion, Dr. Hamilton brings a level of specialized cardiac care that our patients and community deserve.

This week is National CPR & AED Awareness Week, one of the most important topics in heart health!

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time, and to anyone — and when it does, every second counts. Bystander CPR and access to an AED can mean the difference between life and death before emergency responders arrive.

If you have not already taken a CPR certification course, we encourage you to look into one in your community. It is a skill that you hope you never need, but one you will always be glad you have!

Congratulations to our May 2026 Employee of the Month, Lynn Dowdy, RN!

Lynn was nominated for going above and beyond in a way that had nothing to do with her job description and everything to do with her character.

When a member of our team came across an elderly patient unable to find his way to an appointment at another building and with no one to help him get there, Lynn didn't hesitate. Without being asked to do anything more than arrange a ride, she walked him to her car and drove him to his appointment herself.

That kind of compassion cannot be trained. It comes from genuinely caring about the people in front of you, and that is exactly the kind of person Lynn is. Thank you, Lynn!

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

From all of us at Jackson Heart Clinic, we are grateful for their sacrifice and the freedom it represents.

We are so excited to welcome James Howard Hamilton IV, M.D., to the Jackson Heart Clinic family this July!

Dr. Hamilton is a board-certified electrophysiologist with expertise in advanced ablation techniques, atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, Watchman left atrial appendage closure device insertion, and leadless pacemaker insertion. He completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at UMMC and went on to complete a clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the prestigious Krannert Institute of Cardiology in Indianapolis. Most recently, he served as chief of the EP section at UMMC for seven years.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hamilton enjoys traveling with his family, camping, and cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels.
