September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and it's starting with a big milestone for the Mississippi Urology Cancer Center. Our team is now providing Pluvicto infusions.

If you haven't heard of it, Pluvicto is a targeted radiation treatment for advanced prostate cancer, given as an IV infusion. What makes it different from traditional radiation is that the medicine itself does the targeting. It's designed to seek out a protein found on the surface of prostate cancer cells (called PSMA) and deliver radiation directly to those cells, wherever the cancer has traveled in the body, while sparing more of the healthy tissue around it.

For men with advanced prostate cancer, it's one of the most meaningful additions to prostate cancer care in years. Offering it here means our patients can receive this treatment close to home, with friends and family nearby.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. According to the American Cancer Society, Mississippi has the highest prostate cancer death rate of any state in the country. The encouraging part? When caught early, prostate cancer is one of the most treatable cancers.

🙌 Shoutout to our all-star Surgery Center Administrator, Kellie Williams, for representing Mississippi Urology Clinic on stage at the Urology Management Alliance Summit in Arlington, TX!

Kellie joined a panel on Surgery Center Optimization, sharing how practices can run their surgery centers more efficiently to deliver better experiences for patients and staff.

The team closed out the trip with a Rangers game before heading home⚾️
