“We thought the leg was going to have to go.”
Those were the words shared with our Wound Care team by the family of a patient who recently completed his treatment with us.
When they first came through our doors, they were scared. His wounds were serious, and his family admits they were preparing themselves for the worst. But what they remember about those first visits wasn’t fear.
It was hope. ❤️
“She was very positive with a smile. Even though I was looking at it in a negative way… that lifted me up.”
They talked about the confidence they felt in his treatment plan, but just as importantly, they talked about the way they were treated throughout the process—with positivity, kindness, compassion and love.
“There was positivity. They began the right treatment. There was no guessing about it.”
“The treatment and the love that was shown during the treatment… it was just spiritual.”
This is why our Wound Care team does what they do. Behind every wound is a person. Behind that person is often a family who is worried, praying and hoping for good news. Our team has the privilege of walking alongside them through it all.
To this patient and his family, thank you for trusting us with your care—and for wanting to share your experience so that someone else who may be facing a difficult wound knows there can still be hope.
