Started the day cutting yards with my dad.

Ended it behind a microphone. 🎙️🔥

And somewhere in between? Jackson Water, business, responsibilities, Herbal Blessings, preparation, interruptions, and a whole lot of switching hats.

But one moment does NOT get to dictate the rest of my day.

Getting back behind that microphone reminded me how much I love radio. It gives me an outlet, a platform, and a space to have conversations that NEED to be had from a perspective that NEEDS to be heard.

This morning, while getting ready to help my daddy cut yards, gratitude came over me.

Sometimes we’re so busy waiting on a major blessing that we overlook the miracles already surrounding us.

My daddy is still here.
I’m still here.
I have strength in my body.
And when he calls, I can still say, “Yeah, Daddy I’m on my way.”

One day, these ordinary moments will become the memories we wish we could experience one more time.

Thank You, Yahuah, for life, family, strength, protection, grace, mercy—and another day to appreciate what I have while I still have it.

There comes a point when the version of you that survived can no longer be the version of you that leads.

The boy carried the pain.
The boy learned how to survive.

But before I bury him, I have to heal him.

Because an unhealed boy inside a grown man will still make decisions from rejection, fear, anger, ego, and old wounds.

So I’m doing the work.

I love Mississippi. But right now, I am embarrassed to be from here.

There is too much pain, too much silence, too many unanswered questions, and too much that we have learned to normalize.

At some point, loving where you come from has to mean being willing to speak when something does not feel right.

Mississippi deserves better.

Our people deserve better.

And silence is not an option for me anymore.
