Each year, we write a poem to the Night Before Christmas and send them out as cards (you can see them all here... https://caringpalms.com/nights/). This year, one of my clients now living across the world wrote this in return. Aww shucks, it was awesome.
✨ Brian the Reiki Master’s Christmas Glow ✨*
by Ryan Cole
Down in sunny Florida, where palm fronds greet the breeze,
Lived Brian of Caring Palms, bringing hurting hearts to ease.
With his loving wife beside him and his loyal dog each day,
He spread healing through massage and Reiki in his gentle, caring way.
At Caring Palms, the locals came with stress, tight knots, and pain—
He soothed them with warm energy until they felt whole again.
He trained new students often, both at hotels and his own space,
Teaching them to sense life’s flow with a calm, peaceful embrace.
But when work was done, the thing that made his spirit perk
Was diving into Star Trek tales—Spock’s logic, Captain Kirk!
He’d grin at every warp jump, cheer at “Engage!” and “Boldly go!”
Sci-fi filled his heart with wonder, like cosmic winter snow.
On Christmas Eve, the sky was clear; the moon glowed soft and bright, but Brian sensed a stirring—something magical in the night.
A shimmer brushed around him, like stardust drifting free,
A melody of cosmic calm and Reiki energy.
His dog barked by the window, tail wagging in delight,
As if she saw something soaring through that peaceful Florida night.
Brian stepped outside and gasped—his heart began to race—
For a starship made of silver light came gliding into place.
It sparkled like a nebula wrapped in ribbons red and gold,
A Christmas gift from galaxies where brilliant mysteries unfold.
A voice came through the evening air—clear, warm, and deeply wise:
“Brian, your Caring Palms brings peace felt far beyond your skies.”
The ship then beamed down playful lights of green and shimmering blue,
Just like Spock’s calm mind-meld glow mixed with Kirk’s bold captain’s hue.
A message flowed around him, soft as snow and bright as stars:
“Your kindness ripples outward—felt on worlds beyond Mars.”
The glow swirled in a vortex shaped like a festive candy cane,
Lifting every heart around and easing every strain.
His wife stepped out beside him, the dog pressed close with cheer,
As cosmic lights danced overhead, warm as Christmas beer.
Then came a voice—half logical, half full of mirth:
“Brian,” said Spock with raised brow, “your healing honors Earth.”
Kirk followed with a hearty laugh, in classic fearless style:
“You’ve boldly healed where few have healed—now let us give you joy awhile!”
The ship hummed like a choir singing carols soft and low,
Filling him with gratitude that made his whole heart glow.
Then with a final whoosh of starlight, they ascended through the dark,
Leaving sparkles in the heavens like a glowing cosmic arc.
Brian hugged his wife with wonder, his dog bouncing at his knee.
He whispered, “That’s the best Christmas gift the universe could give to me.”
They went inside for cocoa, Trek reruns, laughter sweet—
Feeling love as rich as any snowstorm winter treat.
And every year at Christmas when the Florida breezes rise,
Brian thinks of Caring Palms and the magic in the skies.
For healing hands, brave hearts, and kindness offered free—
Shine brighter than any starship in the vast galactic sea.
✨ And the universe still whispers: “Live long, heal well, and glow with peace.” ✨
