UPDATE ON MIFEPRISTONE ACCESS!
Access to mifepristone by telehealth and mail is temporarily restored at least through May 11, 2026. The parties have until May 7 to file their responses, and we should have another update in a week.
For now we are back to status quo, but the threat is still very real.
As a reminder, mifepristone is the 1st drug in a 2 drug regimen for medical abortion. The second drug, misoprostol, has always been available without restrictions. While, misoprostol alone can be used for medical abortion, it is not as effective as the combined regimen of mifepristone and misoprostol. The 2 step mife/miso regimen is the gold standard for medical abortion care.
