What’s the biggest thing overwhelming your Mom friends or you right now?

And no, I'm not looking for the polished answer.

Is it the mental load?

Trying to keep up with work and home?

Being the person everyone comes to when they need something?

Your relationship?

Money?

Your kids—even when those “kids” aren’t exactly kids anymore?

Taking care of aging parents while still taking care of everyone else?

Or maybe it’s realizing you desperately need time for yourself…but feeling guilty every time you take it.

Sometimes overwhelm isn’t caused by one big thing. It’s the accumulation of 37 little things you’ve been carrying because somewhere along the way, they became “your job.”

So let’s have some Real Talk.

👇 What’s the biggest thing overwhelming you right now?

Drop it in the comments. You may discover you’re far from the only woman carrying it.

And if your answer has you thinking, I really need to do something about this, it may be time to look at where stronger boundaries, clearer communication, or more support could make a difference.

Follow Real Talk with Rebecca for honest conversations about motherhood, boundaries, relationships, overwhelm, and mental health.

This is one of my favorite things to hear ♡

And remember I'm not a regular therapist, I'm a cool therapist 😎😅- we can even walk on the beach or at the park .

Sometimes, getting out of the traditional therapy setting gives you the space you need to actually say the thing you’ve been carrying around.

Therapy is still therapy. The work is still real. But the environment can look different.

My goal is to create a space where you can show up as yourself, talk about the real stuff, and do the work in a way that feels natural to you.

Where are you sitting on the sidelines of your own life because you’re afraid of what might happen if you actually try?

And that goes far beyond careers or big goals.

Sometimes fear looks like…

•Staying quiet because you don’t want to upset someone.
•Saying yes when you desperately want to say no.
•Avoiding a difficult conversation.
•Remaining in a relationship or situation you’ve outgrown.
•Putting everyone else’s needs ahead of your own.
•Waiting until you feel completely “ready” before making a change.

Fear doesn’t always scream STOP.

Sometimes it whispers, “Maybe later.”

So here’s your Real Talk question:

Where are you holding yourself back right now?

And what could change if you stopped allowing fear, guilt, or other people’s expectations to make your decisions for you?

Learning how to set healthy boundaries, work through fear, communicate your needs, and trust yourself can be part of creating a life that actually feels like yours.

You don’t have to change everything today. But you can start getting curious about what’s keeping you on the sidelines.

Keeping the peace can cost you yours.

There’s a difference between creating peace and constantly trying to prevent anyone else from being uncomfortable.

When keeping the peace means staying quiet about what hurts, saying yes when you want to say no, avoiding conversations you know need to happen, or making yourself smaller so someone else doesn’t get upset…you may be protecting everyone’s comfort except your own.

And over time, that can show up as resentment, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself.

Healthy relationships have room for your needs, your feelings, your limits and your voice—even when someone else doesn’t love what you have to say.

A question worth sitting with today:

Where in your life are you keeping the peace at the expense of your own?

You don’t have to share the details. If this hit home, simply leave a 💜 below.

Imagine being nervous about going to therapy… and then you find out I’m your therapist. 😂

Plot twist: therapy probably isn’t what you think it is.

It doesn’t always have to mean sitting stiffly on a couch in an office wondering, “So… where do I even start?”
And yes—I really do meet some of my clients on the beach.
Why?
Because sometimes it’s easier to talk when you’re walking.
Sometimes being outside helps you feel less guarded and more grounded.
Sometimes staring at the ocean feels a whole lot more comfortable than staring across a room at your therapist.
And sometimes, getting out of the traditional therapy setting gives you the space you need to actually say the thing you’ve been carrying around.
Therapy is still therapy. The work is still real. But the environment can look different.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up as yourself, talk about the real stuff, and do the work in a way that feels natural to you.
Bare feet and ocean breeze included.

Let's finish these three weeks with a little Real Talk.

I would feel less overwhelmed if __________.

Don't overthink it.

Maybe it's:

…people stopped expecting me to fix everything.
…I had more help at home.
…I could say no without feeling guilty.
…I stopped putting everything off until the last minute.
…I had an hour completely to myself.
…I finally had the conversation I've been avoiding.
…I knew what I actually wanted next.

Or your answer may be something completely different.

Finish the sentence in the comments.

“I can't because…”

Then comes the explanation.

And another explanation.

And sometimes another one—because we're hoping if our reason is convincing enough, the other person won't be disappointed.

But here's something worth practicing:

No doesn't become more legitimate because you attached a beautifully prepared closing argument to it.

You can be kind and clear at the same time.

“I won't be able to do that.”

“That doesn't work for me.”

“I can't commit to that right now.”

“I need some time before I answer.”

Simple can feel surprisingly uncomfortable when you're accustomed to over-explaining.

That's exactly why boundaries are a practice, not a personality trait you either have or don't have.

There is a difference between peace and the absence of conflict.

If keeping everyone else comfortable requires you to constantly swallow what you feel, ignore what you need, say yes when you mean no, or avoid conversations you're afraid might upset someone…

that isn't necessarily peace.

Sometimes it's self-abandonment wearing very polite clothing.

Healthy relationships have room for disagreement. They have room for needs. They have room for two people to experience something differently without one person disappearing to make everything okay.

A useful question to ask yourself this week:

Am I choosing peace—or am I avoiding discomfort?

That distinction can change a lot.
