When You Feel Like You’re “Too Much”

Have you ever felt like you’re “too much”—too emotional, too sensitive, too reactive?

That belief can quietly shape how you show up, leading you to shrink yourself, hold back, or question your emotions.

With EMDR, I help women reprocess the experiences that created that belief in the first place. As those moments lose their emotional weight, many begin to feel more at ease expressing themselves and trusting that their emotions aren’t something they need to fix.
If this resonates with you, you don’t have to keep carrying that belief alone. Reach out to learn how EMDR therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and feel more grounded in who you are.

When You Feel Like You Have to Earn Rest
I work with a lot of women who feel like they have to earn their rest. Even when they’re exhausted, there’s a pull to keep going, stay productive, or justify slowing down. That pattern usually isn’t about motivation—it’s a nervous system that learned rest wasn’t safe or allowed.
With EMDR, I help women reprocess the experiences that tied worth to doing, achieving, or keeping up. As those patterns shift, rest starts to feel less like something to earn and more like something their body can actually accept.

I often work with women who say, “I just don’t trust myself.”
Decisions feel overwhelming, even small ones, because there’s a constant loop of second‑guessing. That uncertainty isn’t a lack of ability—it’s usually a nervous system that learned it wasn’t safe to get things wrong.

With EMDR, I help women reprocess the experiences that created that self‑doubt. As those memories lose their intensity, decision‑making starts to feel clearer and more grounded. Instead of overanalyzing every step, there’s more space for confidence, trust, and a sense of internal steadiness.

Do you feel responsible for how everyone else feels?

If someone is upset, distant, or disappointed, it quickly turns inward—“What did I do?” or “How do I fix this?” Over time, this creates a constant pressure to manage, anticipate, and keep the peace.
With EMDR, I help women reprocess the experiences that taught their nervous system it was their job to hold everything together. As those patterns shift, it becomes easier to recognize what’s yours and what isn’t. You can begin to care without carrying, support without absorbing, and respond without losing yourself in the process.

Don't carry it alone, don't carry it at all. Call me today and we can work it out together.

Do you find yourself apologizing automatically, without reason?

For some women, apologizing becomes automatic—said before they even realize they’ve done nothing wrong. This pattern often comes from a nervous system that learned appeasing others was the safest option.

Through EMDR, we can gently reprocess the experiences that taught the body to default to self‑blame. As those patterns shift, many women notice they can pause, assess, and respond more intentionally—without the reflex to take responsibility for everything.

Mother’s Day can bring up a mix of emotions for many women.
Alongside love and gratitude, there’s often exhaustion, guilt, grief, or the pressure to feel a certain way.
I want you to listen to me when I say:
Struggling as a mother does not mean you’re doing it wrong and it doesn't mean you're failing — it often means your nervous system has been carrying a lot.

In my work with EMDR, I support moms in processing the emotional load that comes with caregiving—the responsibility, the self‑doubt, the unseen labor, and the moments that linger long after the day is done. When the nervous system gets space to reprocess instead of push through, many women find more patience, more self‑compassion, and less shame around their limits.

This Mother’s Day, I want moms to know: you don’t have to be perfect to be a good mother. You deserve care, support, and moments of being held too.

Do you feel emotionally EXHAUSTED by small things?
For some women, emotional exhaustion shows up not during big moments—but in everyday ones. Small decisions, minor conflicts, or simple requests can feel overwhelming because the nervous system has been running near capacity for too long.
With EMDR, I help women reprocess the chronic stress and emotional load their system never had a chance to resolve. As those experiences lose their intensity, daily life often feels more manageable—not because life got easier, but because the nervous system isn’t carrying everything at once anymore.

For some women, calm feels strange—or even uncomfortable—because their nervous system is used to urgency. EMDR helps reprocess the experiences that wired stress as normal, allowing calm to feel safe rather than suspicious.

For women who’ve lived in “go‑mode” for a long time, calm can feel unfamiliar because the body learned that urgency meant safety. When stress has been the norm, stillness may trigger unease instead of relief. Through EMDR, the nervous system can slowly update those patterns—so calm no longer feels like something to brace against, but something the body can actually settle into and trust.

Feeling Disconnected From Who You Used to Be?
You aren't alone.
Many women tell me they don’t recognize themselves anymore. Chronic stress and trauma can quietly disconnect us from our sense of self. It doesn't have to be that way.
Through EMDR, I help women reconnect—not by going back to who they were, but by integrating experiences so they can move forward feeling whole again.

Don't struggle alone, you can be you again; if not a better version of you.
Lets connect with a virtual appointment, today!
This is your sign, this is your step.

Do You Keep Replaying Conversations?
If you replay conversations over and over, it’s not because you’re overthinking—it’s because your nervous system is trying to create safety by reviewing the past. With EMDR, I help women reprocess the moments that made their brain feel it needed constant replay. When those memories settle, the mental noise often does too.
