Today we wrapped up Assisted Living Week with our Senior Olympics! 🏅🎉

We dressed up in our best athletic gear and had SO much fun competing in lots of fun games! This was definitely one of our favorite days of Assisted Living Week! ❤️

A huge thank you to Stephanie from Choice Hospice and Ayla from Choice Home Health for helping me set everything up and joining in to help with the games! We always love having our sweet friends come spend time with us! 🥰

Thursday was filled with lots of fun and laughter as our residents dressed up in their best tacky tourist outfits! 😎🩴📸 We had so much fun seeing everyone’s creative looks! A big thank you to Jennifer Jones from Concho Hearts Hospice for helping me set up!😊

One of our very own, Doodle, showed us how to hula, and it was such a fun time watching her show off her moves! 💃🌺

Our residents celebrated Twin Day and we had so much fun seeing everyone’s matching outfits! 👯

We also enjoyed our Picnic & Mingle, gathering together for some delicious snacks, good conversation, and plenty of laughs. 🧺😊

🍂🍁 Fall fun was in the air on Tuesday! 🍁🍂

Our residents dressed in their favorite fall outfits and enjoyed a wonderful Fall Party filled with good fellowship, smiles, and plenty of seasonal fun! 🧡

We were also blessed to have special guest Karleigh Hudson join us and fill the room with beautiful gospel music. 🎶❤️ What a special time of worship and joy!

ASSISTED LIVING WEEK IS HERE! 🎉💖

We’re kicking off Assisted Living Week with a PAJAMA & SPA DAY!

Our ladies looked SO cute dressing up in their pjs and participating! We had lots of pampering, getting our nails done, and so many giggles. Nothing better than a cozy spa day with your best girlfriends!

What new residents say, more often than anything else, is some version of “this feels like home.” It usually happens in the dining room.

Country Place is small on purpose. Twenty-four suites — that is the whole community. Twenty-three neighbors instead of two hundred. Her own place, her own chair, her own pictures on the wall.

She comes and goes as she likes. There is real security here, and there is no lock down.

The house she left is still the house she left. Ask her a few months in whether she wants to go back.

Country Place is family — residents, staff, and the families who visit.

Sunday is wonderful. The family drives down, everybody crowds around her table, and she laughs until she has to wipe her eyes.

Then Wednesday comes. Somebody calls and asks what she had for dinner. “Oh, just a sandwich.” Same as Monday. Same as Tuesday.

It was never that she couldn't manage. It was the quiet in between the visits.

Most families talk about assisted living for a year or two before they do anything about it. Every time it comes up, someone says “not yet.” What that usually means is that nobody wants to be the one to say it out loud.

“Not yet” has a cost, and she is the one paying it.

With only 24 residents, our chef knows preferences, dietary needs, and cravings. Meals are prepared fresh, with variety and care.
