The back to school drive hosted by our UF Health Family Medicine and Pediatrics – Elizabeth G Means center was a great success. Physicians, rehab team, nursing staff and other team members came together to provide much needed services and resources to students and families as they prepared for the new school year.

The center was able to serve over 240 children who were provided with:
• Eye exams
• Free haircuts for boys and free hair braiding and styling for girls provided by Florida State College of Jacksonville
• Book bags sponsored by FedEx, filled with required school supplies based on each age group

This event is another great example of the UF Health team being committed to meet families where they are and supporting the health and well being of the communities we serve.

Our leadership teams recently put on their serving hats for BBQ duty to serve employees across our Northeast Florida campuses as a small way to say thank you for all they do. Every employee plays an important role in our mission, from caring for patients to supporting our team behind the scenes. Sometimes, a meal, a smile and a simple moment of appreciation can go a long way. Thank you to our leaders who helped serve and most importantly, thank you to our incredible employees for the dedication and compassion they bring to UF Health every day.

Better cancer care starts with staying informed about what’s next in the industry.

Our UF Health Jacksonville Hematology & Medical Oncology team recently hosted a Pharma Fair, which brought together physicians, staff and 26 pharmaceutical and health care industry partners for an afternoon of learning and collaboration.

The event gave our care teams an opportunity to learn more about evolving cancer treatments, therapies and resources that may help support the patients and families we serve.

By creating opportunities for our teams to stay informed, exchange knowledge and build valuable connections, we’re committed to providing thoughtful, informed care for patients throughout their cancer journey.
