This summer, I keep coming back to one question:

What would it look like to actually enjoy the life I am building?

There is a difference between growing a meaningful life and being so busy building it that we forget to enjoy it.

This summer, I’m trying to make more room for the little things that make life enjoyable. And as much as I teach mindfulness, I’m always reminded that I am my first student.

Macros do not have to be complicated.

When we talk about macros, we are simply talking about the three main nutrients that give your body energy: protein, carbohydrates, and fat.

Protein helps your body build, repair, and stay full longer.

Carbohydrates give your body fuel for your brain, muscles, and everyday life.

Fat supports hormones, fullness, and overall health.

You do not need to obsess over numbers to begin caring for your body well. A simple place to start is building a balanced plate with protein, fiber-rich carbohydrates, healthy fats, and plenty of color.

At Every Girl Living, we believe wellness works best when it is practical, sustainable, and connected to your real life.

I have a confession.

One of my goals for this summer is to clean my house.

I know. Not exactly the inspiring summer vision you were expecting.

The truth is that somewhere between building a business, caring for people, managing a home, and keeping up with everyday life, I’ve accumulated more than just stuff. I’ve accumulated unfinished projects, mental clutter, and a running to-do list that follows me everywhere.

This week’s reflection explores what I’ve been learning about savoring life, creating margin, and making room for the things that matter most.

Have you ever noticed that you seem to play different roles depending on the situation?

Maybe you're the rescuer who feels responsible for everyone else's problems.

Maybe you're the victim who feels stuck and powerless.

Maybe you're the persecutor who leads with criticism, frustration, or blame.

Most of us move between these roles without even realizing it.

The good news is that awareness creates choice.

When we begin to recognize these patterns, we can step out of unhealthy cycles and into healthier ways of relating to ourselves and others.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." — Romans 12:2

The other shows what many people are thinking during class. 😆

The truth is, you don't have to know all the poses. You don't have to be flexible. You don't have to be calm, coordinated, or experienced.

You just have to show up.

Yoga isn't about performing. It's about practicing.

Every time you come to your mat, you're building strength, flexibility, balance, focus, and resilience—one breath at a time. And your brain loves it.

Sometimes healing doesn't happen as quickly as we'd like.

We want to feel better. We want clarity. We want life to return to normal.

But growth, healing, and restoration often take time.

If you're walking through a difficult season, give yourself permission to be where you are. Trust that progress is still happening, even when it feels slow.

"Normalizing taking the time you need to feel like you again."

As Scripture reminds us:

"He restores my soul." — Psalm 23:3

Restoration is rarely rushed.

Take the next right step. Trust the process. Give yourself grace along the way.
