This mama worked so hard to bring her little prince earthside. As her options changed she remained open. Her husband was right there by her side every step of the way. He was so nurturing and patient as his family went from two to three earthside. Congratulations to you both. Doula Milkah is extremely proud and so happy for you both. I am forever humbled to be a part of your birth experience.

In "2" This World's birthing story:

It was an honor to watch this mother listen to her body. I was there to take nothing from her, but in fact to allow her to guide me. Giving her space, yet always remaining present and asking questions from time to time was the path that was brought before us. She labored so peacefully at home and knew that balance was the key to this process. She rested, but she constantly switched positions and gave her body the nutrients it needed to persevere. We checked in to the hospital @ 12:08 a.m. and this little prince made his way earthside @12:18 a.m. They say it was precipitous, but in reality she worked long and hard for this moment since 11 that afternoon. The dad and his big 1 year old brother got to witness the little prince join us. At our initial consultation she said she wanted to labor at home and go to the hospital when it was time to push. While birth can be so unpredictable, sometimes it goes exactly as planned and this was definitely one of those times. Welcome to our side of the world Alden Elijah.

As a doula I firmly believe that I cannot empower a woman. I cannot give what's already there innately. My role is simply to assist in bringing this power forth during her birthing journey.

Was blessed to receive this beautiful gift from my client. Got to wear this to speak at Jacksonville's DONA training. So thankful for Rae Davies with the Birth Company for allowing me into this space to share my knowledge with the newer doulas. Wishing them success in this endeavor. Happy doulaing!

Wanted to send a big Congratulations to my clients. Its official... it's a lil Prince! The mom is doing awesone staying fit and healthy. VBAC #2 is in our near future.

Look at my cute lil doula baby posing with gentian violet in his mouth. Gotta love the purple lips lol. Gentian violet is an antifungal and is great for treating thrush/yeast on both mothers and babies. While it can sometimes be messy, the relief is rapid. He seems to like his purple lips!
