It’s true that when you’re sick, you will pass antibodies to your little in your milk! Those antibodies can help baby to get over their illness faster, but not always prevent illness. So proper hand hygiene and proper mask use can hugely decrease the risk of your baby getting the same illness you have!

If you’re having difficulties latching, that may lead to you needing to pump and bottle feed sooner than you planned. Pumping and bottle feeding in the place of breast-feedings do two things: it allows you to stimulate (or maintain) your milk supply and it allows baby to be fed. Both these two things are detrimental to aiding in your future breastfeeding success. You can call and schedule a lactation visit today for more guidance of pumping schedules, bottle feeding amounts and frequency
