One of the highlights of our Survivorship Expo earlier this week was painting flower pots with Art with a Heart in Healthcare. 🌷 🎨

Every attendee, from current and former patients to family members and team members, created something uniquely personal. Yet across nearly every painted pot, the same powerful themes emerged: hope, resilience and faith.

It was a wonderful way to create a symbol of everyone's unique cancer journey! πŸ’™

πŸ’™ In honor of Cancer Survivors Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience and hope of every survivor.

For Lauren, a clinical research coordinator at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center and cancer survivor, survivorship is a reminder of how far she has come.

πŸ’¬ "When I look at these pictures, I see every challenge that was placed in front of me and how I made it through each one, one step at a time."

What once marked the beginning of one of the most difficult chapters of Lauren's life has become a source of purpose. Today, she helps bring hope to others through her work in clinical trials. πŸ™

πŸ’¬ "After everything I've been through, it means so much to be on the other side, in a space where I can help others on their journey, too."

This Cancer Survivors Day, we honor Lauren and all survivors whose courage, determination and hope inspire us every day.

06/07/2026

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day, and our own Lauren Anthony is sharing a message of hope and encouragement from her perspective as a four-time cancer survivor. As you'll see in the video, Lauren's resilience is truly inspiring. She's turned her experience into a passion for helping others, dedicating her career to supporting patients and families facing cancer. πŸ’œ

No two cancer journeys are alike, but we're all united against the same foe. To anyone going through treatment or anyone who recently completed treatment, please know an entire community has your back!

Lauren's story is a powerful reminder of the strength cancer survivors carry every day. We'd love to hear your story, too. Share your journey in the comments and help inspire others who may need a little inspiration today. 🀍

Making a difference for patients sometimes means taking their voices all the way to Washington, D.C. 🩺

We're of Kimberly LaBree, DNP, assistant administrator of patient care services at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, who recently presented before a panel of representatives at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) HCPCS Level II Public Meeting on coding requests.

Kim advocated on behalf of patients with brain cancer and joined Brian Crawford and the Keep Me and My Family Safe program in support of efforts to advance treatment options, improve access to innovative therapies and support continued research.

Thank you, Kim, for representing our patients and helping move this important work forward. πŸ’™

Congratulations to Justin on being named our May 2026 LOTUS Award winner! πŸ† πŸ’™

The LOTUS Award is given to a non-nursing team member who goes above and beyond the call of duty, which Justin does daily in his role managing IT and technical support for our team. His nomination came from a colleague, and it really speaks to the lengths Justin will go to ensure that our health care heroes have everything they need!

"I would like to take a moment to recognize and express my sincere appreciation for Justin and the outstanding support he provides to our Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center team on the 6th. No matter how busy he is managing the many IT issues and technical demands across the office, Justin consistently remains friendly, approachable, and highly professional. His calm demeanor and positive attitude make a significant difference, especially during urgent situations.

He not only resolves issues efficiently but also ensures that everyone feels supported and valued.
Justin's dedication, reliability, and commitment to excellent service do not go unnoticed. He plays a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly, and we are truly grateful for his hard work and professionalism.”

Here’s to you, Justin. Way to make us, ! Let’s hear it for Justin in the comments!

πŸ’™ 🩺 This , we honor the strength of patients, families and caregivers while recognizing the advances bringing new hope to those facing brain cancer and other brain tumor diagnoses and treatments.

Dr. Robert Cavaliere, neuro oncologist with Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, is encouraged by the rapid progress in state-of-the-art therapies and diagnostic tools that were once unimaginable. From immunotherapy to cellular therapy, every innovation represents another opportunity to improve both outcomes and quality of life for patients facing difficult diagnoses.

πŸ’¬ Beyond the technology, it's the people who inspire Dr. Cavaliere most. β€œThe commitment to taking care of people with these tumors is still near and dear to my heart,” Dr. Cavaliere said. β€œTheir days are a lot harder than mine. I know the hardship they go through. It’s nice to be part of their journey and be there to maybe make the road a little smoother.”

Congratulations to Jason McClune, MD, and his team on completing their 200th patient biopsy for lung cancer using cutting-edge technology! 🫁

At Baptist Health, we’re proud to always be at the forefront of emerging medical technologies, and Dr. McClune and his team completed these biopsies using a state-of-the-art, advanced robotic-assisted platform that can help diagnose lung cancer.

This new program is already making a meaningful impact, and reaching 200 procedures is an exciting milestone for both the team, the patients we serve and the future of cancer detection. πŸ’™

We celebrated the milestone yesterday with a catered lunch and remarks from Dr. McClune about how encouraging this progress is for cancer detection and care in our community.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. McClune and his team in the comments! πŸŽ‰
