Coping While You Wait for Help 💛
If you’re struggling with alcohol, depression, or anxiety—and waiting for treatment, a therapist, or just the right moment to reach out—please know this: you are not alone, and there are things you can do right now to care for yourself.
Here are a few gentle strategies to help you through the in-between:
🌿 Breathe with intention. Try box breathing: inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat.
📝 Write it out. Journaling can help you process emotions and track patterns without judgment.
🚶♂️ Move your body. A short walk, stretch, or dance break can shift your energy and mood.
📱 Reach out. Text a friend. Call a helpline. Connection is a powerful antidote to isolation.
🎧 Create a calm playlist. Music can soothe, ground, and remind you that you’re still here—and still trying.
💬 Say one kind thing to yourself. Even if it’s just: “I’m doing the best I can today.”
Healing isn’t linear. But every small act of care is a step forward. You matter. You’re not alone. And help is on the way.
