🌿Sunday Product Spotlight | A Little Extra Love for Your Whole Body🌿

Sometimes the simplest parts of our self-care routine are the ones we forget about.

We spend so much of our days taking care of everything and everyone else that it's easy to forget to slow down and give ourselves a little extra care, too.

At Folk Wholistic, I believe self-care doesn't have to mean having a bathroom full of complicated products or following an elaborate routine. A few thoughtfully made, nourishing products can be enough to make those everyday moments feel a little more intentional.

So today, I'm putting the spotlight on two products that pair beautifully together for a little bath-to-body self-care. 🌿

🌼 Chamomile & Oat Soothing Bath Tea

A simple blend of oats and chamomile, with a touch of chamomile essential oil, created to turn an ordinary bath into a soothing and comforting experience.

The oats help create a soft, nourishing bath, while chamomile has long been appreciated for its gentle, calming qualities.

There's something wonderfully simple about steeping herbs into your bath and taking a few quiet moments to yourself.

Then, when you step out of the bath...

🌿 Ultra Rich Body Butter

This rich, nourishing body butter is made for those moments when your skin deserves a little extra love.

After a warm bath, applying a generous layer of body butter while your skin is still slightly damp can be a simple way to help leave your skin feeling soft, moisturized, and nourished.

Soak. Nourish. Moisturize. Slow down.

And sometimes, that's all we really need.

Simple products.
Thoughtful ingredients.
A few quiet moments.
A little more intention in the way we care for ourselves.

Whether you're someone who loves a full self-care routine or someone who prefers to keep things simple, caring for your body can be a small but meaningful part of caring for yourself.

Because wellness isn't always about doing more.

Sometimes it's about slowing down enough to enjoy the little things.

Chamomile & Oat Soothing Bath Tea + Ultra Rich Body Butter

A simple pairing for a little extra love from bath to body. 🌿

🌿Forager's Thursday🌿

Let's talk about a spice most of us probably have sitting in the kitchen right now… clove.

Cloves are one of those little things that I think we tend to overlook because they're so familiar.

But this tiny, fragrant spice has a pretty fascinating history in traditional herbalism.

One of the reasons clove is so interesting is a compound called eugenol, which is responsible for much of its characteristic aroma and many of the properties clove has become known for.

🌿Traditionally, clove has been used for oral care and tooth discomfort.

There's a reason clove has such a long association with the mouth and teeth. Eugenol has antimicrobial properties and has been used in dentistry for generations. Research has also found pain-relieving effects in several dental applications.

That warm, numbing quality you may notice from clove isn't just in your imagination.

🌿Clove and parasites

This is another area that I find particularly interesting.

Research on eugenol has shown antiparasitic activity against a number of organisms, including some intestinal and other parasites. Most of this research is still laboratory or animal research, though, so I wouldn't consider a cup of clove tea or a few cloves a substitute for proper testing and treatment when someone actually has a parasitic infection.

But I do think it's fascinating to see science beginning to explore properties that traditional herbal practices have been interested in for a very long time.

And clove doesn't stop there.

It's also been studied for its:

🌿 antioxidant properties
🌿 antimicrobial activity
🌿 antifungal activity
🌿 anti-inflammatory effects
🌿 potential digestive support
🌿 traditional use in respiratory and digestive preparations
🌿 and its natural preservative qualities

Sometimes the simplest things in our pantry have a much longer story than we realize.

That's one of the things I love about learning herbs.

You don't necessarily have to go searching for something exotic.

Sometimes you just have to look a little closer at what's already around you.

Have you ever used clove for something other than cooking?

I'd love to hear how you use it in your home. 🌿

Stay well, friends. 🌿

🌿 **Crafted With Intention Tuesday** 🌿

I didn't make it here yesterday because we were celebrating someone pretty special in our family—my oldest turned 20. ❤️

Twenty years is a pretty big milestone, and yesterday was one of those days where being present with family mattered more than checking things off a list.

And honestly, I think that's part of what Folk Wholistic is about, too.

Living intentionally doesn't always mean doing more. Sometimes it means knowing when to put the phone down, step away from the work, and make room for the people and moments that matter.

That's the same mindset I bring into the things I make here.

I don't want to create something simply because I can. I want there to be a reason behind it. I want to know what I'm making, why I'm making it, and how it might fit into a slower, more thoughtful way of caring for ourselves and our families.

That's what **Crafted With Intention** means to me.

A little less rushing.

A little more thoughtfulness.

And making room for the things that are actually worth our time.

So today I'm back in my little corner of the internet, ready to get back to work—and grateful for the reminder that sometimes the most important thing we can make time for isn't something at all.

It's a memory. 🌿

What is something you're making room for in your life lately?

Stay well, friends. 🌿

🌿Sunday Product Spotlight | A Little Extra Love for Your Skin🌿

Sometimes the simplest parts of our self-care routine are the ones we forget about.

We remember to wash our face. We remember moisturizer when our skin feels dry. But there are a few other little steps that can make a simple skincare routine feel much more intentional.

At Folk Wholistic, I believe skincare doesn't have to mean having a bathroom full of complicated products. A few thoughtfully made, nourishing products can be enough.

So today, I wanted to shine a little light on some of the facial care products that don't always get the attention they deserve. 🌿

✨Evergreen Face Oil — $15

A nourishing blend of olive, castor, almond, and vitamin E oils, infused with frankincense and sweet orange essential oils. Created to leave skin feeling soft, nourished, and beautifully moisturized with a healthy-looking glow.

✨Evergreen Face & Neck Butter — $20

A rich, tallow-based nighttime moisturizer with frankincense, castor oil, and vitamin E. Made for those evenings when your skin deserves a little extra nourishment and moisture.

✨Meadow Glow Facial Toner — $12

A gentle botanical toner designed to refresh and balance the complexion while supporting a clean, fresh-looking appearance.

✨Clean Slate Facial Cleanser — $12

A gentle blend of witch hazel, almond oil, and aloe vera gel designed to lift away makeup and everyday buildup while leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed, and comfortable.

And sometimes, that's all we really need.

Cleanse. Refresh. Nourish. Moisturize.

A simple routine, made a little more intentional. 🌿

Whether you're someone who loves a full skincare routine or someone who prefers to keep things simple, caring for your skin can be a small but meaningful part of caring for yourself.

Which of these would you be most interested in trying? 🌿

Stay well, friends. 🌿

🌙Sabbath Evening🌿

As this Sabbath day comes to a close, I hope you were able to find at least a little space to breathe, rest, and simply be.

There is something special about setting aside the busyness of everyday life and allowing ourselves to remember what truly matters.

The work will still be there tomorrow.

The lists will still be there.
The chores will still be there.
There will always be something waiting to be done.

But tonight, let yourself rest.

Let your mind grow quiet.
Let your heart settle.
Be thankful for the simple blessings of this day—the food on your table, the people you love, the roof over your head, the moments of peace, and even the small things that brought a smile to your face.

We don't have to accomplish something every moment to have a day well spent.

Sometimes rest is the work.

Sometimes stillness is exactly what we need.

And sometimes slowing down is how we remember what we were rushing past. 🌿

May your evening be peaceful and your heart be at rest as you prepare for a new week.

Have a peaceful Sabbath evening, friends. 🌙🌿

🌿Slow Living Saturday🌿

There is something beautiful about allowing ourselves to slow down.

In a world that constantly tells us to hurry, produce, accomplish, and move on to the next thing, choosing to pause can feel almost unnatural.

But slowing down gives us room to notice the things we might otherwise miss.

The warmth of the morning sun.
The sound of birds outside.
A quiet cup of tea.
A meal made slowly and intentionally.
A conversation without rushing.
Time spent with the people we love.
A moment to simply breathe and be present.

Slow living isn't about doing nothing.

It's about being intentional with what we do give our time and attention to.

Today, give yourself permission to move a little slower.

Let the house be quiet.
Let the work wait when it can.
Enjoy your food.
Step outside.
Rest your mind.
Be present with your family.
Make room for gratitude.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is simply remember that we are human beings—not human doings. 🌿

May your Saturday be gentle, peaceful, and unhurried.

🏡 Homestead Stand Friday 🌱

One of the most common questions I hear is:

"How much should I plant to feed my family?"

It's one of those questions that seems simple, but the answer depends on your family's needs, how you like to eat, and whether you plan to preserve your harvest.

As part of Homestead Stand Friday, I’ll be sharing a🌱 NEW SERIES of practical garden planning guides over the next several weeks. These guides will focus on helping you plan how much to grow based on your household size — from how many plants per person to how much you may want to plant for fresh eating, preserving, and storing for the year.

My hope is that these guides will help take some of the guesswork out of growing your own food — whether you have a large garden, a small backyard, or just a few containers on the porch.

Today's guide is a general starting point for planning some of the most common garden vegetables.

Remember, these numbers aren't rules — they're simply a place to begin. Every family is different. Some people can't get enough fresh tomatoes, while others would rather have extra potatoes, onions, or green beans for preserving.

Gardening is one of those skills we grow into. Every season teaches us something new, and every year our gardens become a little more intentional.

Whether you're growing a garden for the first time or you're looking to become more self-sufficient, I hope these guides help you feel more confident as you plan your growing season. 🌿

I'd love to know...

🌱 What vegetable could your family never have too much of?

🌿Forager's Thursday🌿

I was out walking recently when I noticed patches of Queen Anne's Lace growing along the edge of the trail.

It's one of those wildflowers I've admired for years, but the more I've learned about herbs and wild plants, the more I've realized how important it is to look a little closer.

At first glance, Queen Anne's Lace and Poison Hemlock can look surprisingly similar, especially from a distance. That's one of the reasons I always encourage people to learn several identifying characteristics before ever considering harvesting a wild plant.

One of the easiest ways to tell them apart is by looking at the stems.

🌿Queen Anne's Lace has a hairy stem that feels slightly rough to the touch.

☠️Poison Hemlock has a smooth, hollow stem with distinctive purple blotches or streaks.

There are other differences as well, but that one alone has helped me slow down and pay closer attention when I'm out exploring.

One of the things I enjoy most about learning about plants isn't simply knowing their names.

It's learning to notice the details.

The more time I spend outside, the more I realize nature rewards those who take the time to observe.

Have you ever stopped to look closely at the wildflowers growing along the side of the road or a walking trail?

Stay well, friends. 🌿

Always positively identify any wild plant before harvesting or using it. This post is shared for educational purposes only.

🌿 Folk Wholistic Apothecary & Wellness 🌿

A slower, more intentional way of living.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on my own wellness journey is that caring for ourselves goes far beyond what we do for our bodies.

At Folk Wholistic, I believe wellness is deeply personal. There is no single path that works for everyone.

Sometimes we need education and guidance.
Sometimes we need encouragement and accountability.
Sometimes we simply need a compassionate space where we can slow down, reflect, and feel truly heard.

This is why I created Folk Wholistic.

My passion is helping others better understand their bodies, make informed choices, and discover realistic ways to support their overall well-being.

One thing I've noticed about spending more time outdoors is how much you begin to pay attention.

You notice which flowers bloom first.

You notice the birds that return each season.

You notice how the garden changes from one week to the next.

It's funny how slowing down doesn't necessarily mean doing less—it just means noticing more.

I think that's one of my favorite parts of this lifestyle.

The world moves pretty fast, but nature never seems to be in a hurry.

Maybe that's why I enjoy being outside so much.

What's something you've noticed lately that you might have missed if you were rushing through your day?

Stay well, friends. 🌿
