Robert W. LeMasters, 92, died after a short illness on May 24, 2026, at a rehabilitation center in Carthage, Missouri. He was born on May 9, 1934, in Jasper County, Missouri, the son of Alonzo Lee LeMasters and Wilma Lamyra (Baird) Kirby.

Bob graduated from Jasper High School with the Class of 1952. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany from 1953 to 1956 with the 10th armored division. He later became a member in the Carthage Masonic Lodge, the Carthage Shrine Club, the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple of Springfield. He was a member of the Carthage Shrine Train Crew, Carthage V.F.W. post 2590, and the Carthage American Legion Post 789. He was a very proud veteran and served wherever and whenever he could. Bob married Louisa Gilbert on August 7, 2004, and they settled in Greenfield, Missouri. They were happily married for 21½ years.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Louisa; his sons, Ronald (Kerrie)LeMasters, and Gerald LeMasters; his cherished grandchildren, Leah (John) Flud, Lorel (Richard) Burcaw, and Reed (Megan) LeMasters; and eight adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Louisa’s children, Eric (Amy) Gilbert, and Kimberly Gilbert. Along with grandchildren, Tiffani (Landon) Corbin, Reid Gilbert, Kara Degonia, Amanda DuVall, Randi DuVall, and Jacob DuVall. Bob is also survived by his brothers, Lonnie of Avilla, Rick (Janice) of Jasper, and John, of Carthage, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for family.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Bill, and two sisters, Patricia and Nancy Ann along with two of Louisa's children, David Gilbert, and Julie Duvall. Bob treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, steady presence, and generous heart touched everyone around him. His family was the center of his life, and he took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Above all else, Bob loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bob and Louisa were faithful members of Bethany Baptist Church in Carthage. He was also a member of the Senior Bible Study Group.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 2,2026 at Bethany Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial with full military rites will be held at Fasken Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1,2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel. There will be Masonic Rites at 5:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Carthage Shrine Train Crew.

Dillion Leroy Young passed away peacefully April 18, 2026 at Oak Pointe in Carthage, Missouri,
at age 95. He was born June 10, 1930 in Larned, Kansas to Verdie and Callie (Creekmur) Young.
He graduated from Archie, Missouri where he met his first wife, Mary Lou Bruffett. They were
married March 25, 1950. They had three daughters; Winona Knight, Patty Hoenshell (Gary), and
Barbara Evans. Mary Lou preceded him in death on July 12, 1974.
He later married Bonnie
Bender on July 3, 1976 and gained two more daughters; Brenda White(Tony) and Debbie
Duncan. Bonnie preceded him in death September 8, 2012. He was blessed with many
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although he was preceded in death by four brothers
and four sisters, he is survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.
He served in the army
from 1952-1954. He was a lifelong farmer. Upon retirement he spent many years as a winter
Texan in McAllen,Texas. The family want to extend a special thanks to everyone at Oak Pointe
for the care they provided to him.
Visitation is from 1:00-3:00 April 26th at Weng Funeral Chapel in Jasper,
Missouri.

Kathy Jane Onstott, 66, of Lamar, Missouri, passed away on April 14, 2026, in Lamar. She was born on October 25, 1959, in Lamar, Missouri, to Orville and Evelyn Onstott.

Kathy was united in marriage to Dale Carter on January 18, 1975, and together they had four children. Though they later separated, they remained close.

She is survived by her children: Jenica Rush of Frisco, TX; Jessica Carter of Jasper, MO; Willie Carter of Lamar, MO; and Ben Carter of Lamar, MO. She is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Onstott of Lamar, MO; her siblings, Debra Walters of Lamar, MO, and Jerry Onstott of Lamar, MO.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Orville Onstott.

She was a proud grandmother to Madison Rush, Damien Markus, Jaime Rush, Maylee Rawlings, Phinneas Manko, Karma Carter, and Declan Carter. She shared a special and cherished bond with Karma and Declan, who brought her joy and happiness everyday. Her love, guidance, and presence in their daily lives created a connection that will never be forgotten.

Kathy also shared an especially deep bond with her sons, Willie and Ben. Together, they faced life’s challenges side by side, leaning on one another, supporting each other, and finding strength in their closeness. Through both the difficult and joyful times, they remained constant for one another—a reflection of the love and strength Kathy carried throughout her life.

Kathy had a deep love for nature and animals, finding peace and happiness in the outdoors and caring for the creatures around her. She will be remembered for her love of family and animals, her kind heart and strong spirit.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 20,2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery (Oakton). The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 19,2026 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.

Trafford Wayne Baker, 86 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center. He was born on October 17, 1939 in Carthage, Missouri to William Trafford and Helen Irlene (Law) Baker. Wayne graduated from Jasper High School with the class of 1957 and was a farmer. He was a member of the Alba Christian Church.

Wayne was united in marriage to Janet Ray on October 24, 1959. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2021. Survivors include two sons, Richard Baker, and Danny Baker (Karen), all of Carthage, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Fasken Cemetery.

Ersel Lavaughn Williams, 91 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Oak Pointe of Carthage. Ersel was born on July 25, 1934 in Barton County, Missouri to Alvie and Opal (Taffner) Syfert. She worked many years as an Executive assistant for University of California Irvine. Ersel was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Carthage.

Ersel was united in marriage to Russell Williams on September 4 1953. He preceded her in death on January 13, 2021. Survivors include , a sister, June Talley. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Rosetta Templeton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Crossroads Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Park Cemetery mausoleum.

Gabriel Levi Maxson Royer, 40 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Springfield Mercy Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1985 in Carthage, Missouri to Charles and Lana (Floyd) Royer. Gabe was a furniture store owner. He was a member of the Harvest Community Church Avilla, MO.

Gabe was united in marriage to Natasha Martin on December 27th, 2003. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Levi Royer, a daughter, Sarah Callaway (Justice), two sisters, Diana Martin (Anthony), and Christina Moss (Daniel), his father, Charles Royer, and maternal grandmother, Louetta Floyd. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lana Royer.

Gabe will be remembered for his strong faith in Christ and his passion for helping others.

Any donations can be made to the Gabe Royer memorial fund at SMB.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Harvest Community Church at 4pm. A celebration of life will be held at 7pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the church.

Robert Wayne Johnson, 93 of Jasper, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, February 1, 2026 at his home. Robert was born on May 1, 1932 in Carthage, Missouri to Jim and Thelma (Bradley) Johnson. Robert had worked many years as a truck driver and farmed for 20 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a medic. Robert loved fishing, where he found peace and joy in God’s creation. A man of strong faith, Robert was a deacon and devoted member of Zion Baptist Church for 60 years. He was also a faithful member of the Gideon’s, and served as a missionary in Mexico.

Robert was united in marriage to Margaret Stuckey on August ,16, 1952. She survives of the home. Other Survivors include two sons, Jim Johnson and wife Sharon, and Terry Johnson and wife Phyllis, six grandchildren, Jennifer Nord and husband Nathaniel, Steven Juris and wife Britney, Amber Lombard and husband Caleb, April Chapman and husband Chris, Brad Johnson and wife Kelly, and Michelle Johnson, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren,

Due to upcoming weather conditions, the visitation has been moved to February 1, 2026 from 1: to 3:00 p.m.

Nelle Elizabeth Smith Hoenshell passed away peacefully January 15th at St. Lukes in Carthage, Missouri at age 95. She was born June 28th, 1930 in Springfield, Missouri to Richard Ritter Smith and Garland Dorothy Downs Smith. She attended Star and Campbell grade school, Jarrett Junior High, and Springfield High School (Central). She graduated with the class of 1948 where she was a member of the Kiltie Drum Corp and active in the music department. Nelle attended Southwest Missouri State College in Springfield where she was a member of Pi Kappa Sigma and the Drum Corp.

On October 27th, 1950 she married Kenneth B. Hoenshell of Jasper, Missouri. They made their home in Jasper for 56 years before moving to Carthage, Missouri. Nelle was a school teacher and substitute teacher for several years. She was a member of the Jasper Methodist Church for over 60 years. She and Kenny were active with the MYF nurturing many youth to follow Christ. She was also active in UMW, Dorcas Circle, and was an avid quilter.

She loved The Lord, her husband, her family and her community!She and Kenny raised 3 sons and were so proud of the men they have become.She taught us to love, how to have fun, to do the right thing, to be fair, and love everyone like family. She has left a lasting legacy.

She is survived by one brother David Smith (Rae), her sons: Gary (Patty), Bob (Penny) and Steve (Willa), 6 grandchildren: Nathan Hoenshell (Sara), Callie Gourley (Jesse), Josh Hoenshell (Corina), Jessica Hilton (Wade), Brook Walker (Shandon) and Brittany Lepper (Austin), and 14 great grands: Hadley, Magnus, Dausen, Hunter, Alli, Andrew, Oaklyn, Molly, Sadie, Alaya, Caymen, Skylynne, Adalynn and Anna Jo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenny, brother Bill Smith and sister-in-law Patti Smith.

Carl Ivan Shaw, 89 of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his home. Carl was born on June 29, 1936 in Carthage, Missouri to Ivan and Elizabeh (Johnson) Shaw. Carl had worked many years for M.F.A. Oil as a delivery driver. He was a member of the Jasper Methodist Church

Carl was united in marriage to Doris Isenmann on November 5, 1955. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2020. Survivors include a son, Leon Shaw (Mary), three grandchildren, Justin Shaw, Amanda Baldwin, Philip Baldwin, and one great-grandchild, Taylor Baldwin. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his daughter, Bev Baker, his brother, Marvin Shaw and a nephew, David Shaw.

Gwenda Greer, age 80, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Gwenda was born on April 3, 1945. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Greer, who preceded her in death. Together, they spent most of their married life in Maxwell, Iowa, where they raised their family—a place that remained especially close to Gwenda’s heart.

Gwenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Ed Greer; Leslie McCarthy; and Tracy (Vince) Fausch, all of whom reside in Iowa.

She was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Travis (Rachel) McCarthy, Casey McCarthy (Thomas Healdsburg), Kyle (Sami) Fausch, and Cory (Hunter) Fausch. Gwenda was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Aubrei (age 10) and Skylar (age 7), children of Kyle and Sami Fausch.

Gwenda had a special gift with children and truly delighted in spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A beloved mother, wife, and grandmother, Gwenda’s life centered around her family, her church, and a deep appreciation for nature. She especially loved flowers and spending time outdoors, watching bald eagles and pelicans at Red Rock and Big Creek—moments that brought her peace and joy.

Gwenda will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Weng Funeral Chapel, 605 S. Main Street, Jasper, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 4:00 p.m. A meal will be shared afterward. Memorial contributions can be made to Mitchell Cemetery or Shriner's Hospital.
