Did you know, at my practice I have seen a dramatic increase in individuals struggling with food insecurity over the past year? When individuals experience food insecurity, it leads to over 250% higher rates in anxiety and depression. In adolescents you’ll see increased behavioral disruptions, inability to concentrate at school, difficulty managing day to day stressors, etc. Food insecurity is incredibly traumatic to those who experience it. I’m so grateful for the Central Missouri Food Bank and Catholic Charities’ work in our communities, and am very excited for this opportunity to contribute to the cause.
