🕊️ Carol Lynn Hollomon, 56, went home to Jesus on August 27th, 2026 while surrounded by loved ones. Born in Silverton, Oregon on November 1st, 1969 to Dennis and Virginia Hollomon.
Carol spent the greater part of her life living in Smithton, Missouri since her family moved there when she was 12 years old. She was in the graduating class of 1987 at Smithton High School. She spent many years of her life in the service and retail industry, where she was a dedicated employee who loved sharing her warm smile and positive attitude with her customers.
Anyone who knew Carol, knew her for her kind soul, her free spirit, her loving, compassionate nature and her great sense of humor. She could light up a room just by walking into it, and her infectious laugh was sure to make anyone’s day brighter!
Carol enjoyed the simpler things in life. She could spend hours getting lost in a good book. She loved backroad country drives, potluck dinners, listening to good music, camping with friends and family and family get-togethers. She enjoyed visiting the beach, but always said she hoped Heaven had front porches with mountain views.
But above all else, Carol’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she spoke about every opportunity she got! She was proudly labled the “favorite” by many of her nieces and nephews, whom she loved so dearly! She was a beloved mom, grandma, daughter, sister, partner, aunt and friend!
Carol leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, love, and the many people whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of loving her.
Carol is survived by her children: Miranda Griffy and her husband Tony Griffy of Aiken SC, Brandon Holt of Aiken, SC, her grandchildren, Kaiden, Kimberlynn, Eliyah, Izaiah and Brianna and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her partner, Brandon Capps of Smithton, MO, her mother, Virginia Dollinger of Sedalia, MO, her 4 siblings, Shelly Hollomon and her partner, Dave Schirlls, of Otterville, MO, Mary Hollomon, of Sedalia, MO, John Hollomon and his wife Nichole Hollomon, of Smithton, MO, Ginnie Powers and her husband, Mike Powers, of Edwards, MO, along with 16 nieces and nephews: Dennis, Sara, Victoria, Tonya, TJ, Amber, Shaylen, Shawnna, Hailey, Alannah, John Charles, Harley, Brad, Debbie, Kiera and Brookelynn and many great nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Hollomon.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026, at South 65 Event Barn, at 22968 Mather Rd, Sedalia, MO 65301. The service will be followed by a Celebration of Life where family and friends are invited to come together to remember Carol, share stories, and celebrate the life she lived and the love she gave to so many.
