We are beyond proud to spotlight two of our CIT Family Champions... Detective Joseph Strehl with St. Charles County and Tommy Wolf, CBHL Supervisor with BJC!

What makes Joseph and Tommy so special is that they represent the very heart of what CIT is. Law enforcement and behavioral health, working side by side, united by one mission. Detective Strehl brings the dedication and compassion of a true CIT champion to every interaction, and Tommy's leadership as a CBHL Supervisor with BJC is a living example of what it looks like to bridge the gap between crisis response and community care.

Together, they don't just serve the mission. They ARE the mission. Their commitment to the individuals they serve, to their communities, and to the values that drive CIT forward every single day is something we celebrate and are deeply grateful for.

If you haven't seen their video yet, stop what you're doing and watch it now.

Thank you, Joe and Tommy, for your outstanding work, your unwavering dedication, and for making Missouri stronger and safer for everyone. We are so proud to call you our CIT Family Champions. 💛

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a time to reflect on the sacrifice of those who never made it home and to honor the families, friends, and fellow service members who carry that loss every day.

Because of their courage and selflessness, we are able to enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted. Their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We are forever grateful. 🇺🇸

Today, on National EMS Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the EMS professionals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.🤍

Every call answered, every life touched, and every moment spent serving their communities reflects courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Their impact continues to live on through the people they helped, the partners they stood beside, and the communities they protected.

We remember those we have lost and hold their families, friends, coworkers, and agencies close in our hearts today. 🖤

Thank you to all EMS professionals who continue to serve with strength and selflessness each day. Your commitment does not go unnoticed.

Today, we had the privilege of witnessing something truly extraordinary. 💙

We attended the graduation ceremony for The Battle Within and words barely do it justice. You could feel the power moving through that room. The weight of what these men had walked through, and the strength they chose to walk out with, was absolutely palpable.

We are so incredibly proud of the 10 men who chose to be their own heroes. Who looked the hard stuff in the eye and didn't flinch. Who showed up, did the work, and crossed that finish line.

Because that is what The Battle Within gives you. Not a title. Not a trophy. An opportunity. The opportunity to look in the mirror and finally see the hero that was there all along. These 10 men grabbed that opportunity with both hands and they are never letting go.

To the men and women who put on a badge, a uniform, every first responder who gets up every single day and runs toward what others run from... you carry more than most people will ever understand. The things you've seen, the weight you carry home — you deserve support. You deserve healing. Seeking mental health help is not weakness. It is one of the bravest things a first responder or veteran can do. You would never tell a brother or sister in arms to walk off a physical injury. Don't walk off the invisible ones either.

Thank you The Battle Within for walking alongside these warriors. For pouring into them with everything you have. For refusing to let them fight alone.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITY
The Battle Within has an upcoming cohort specifically for females launching in June and there are only 3 spots remaining! If you or someone you know could benefit from this life changing program please don't wait.

Don't let those spots go unfilled. Someone out there needs this. 💙

This is exactly why Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training matters. 💙

A recent incident in Phelps County ended safely after a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper recognized signs of a mental health crisis and used de-escalation techniques learned through CIT training to talk the individual down safely. No injuries. A safer outcome for everyone involved.

We are incredibly grateful to see the trooper receive the well-deserved recognition he has earned. Stories like this highlight the importance of investing in training, partnerships, and compassionate responses during moments of crisis.

A huge thank you to the Missouri State Highway Patrol and all of our local councils for their continued commitment to CIT and crisis response training across our state. Your dedication to equipping first responders with these skills continues to make a difference in the lives of both responders and the communities they serve.

Missouri CIT continues work to strengthen partnerships between law enforcement, behavioral health professionals, EMS, dispatchers, and communities across Missouri by equipping responders with the tools to recognize mental health crises, communicate effectively, and prioritize safety and connection to care.

We are so proud of the work being done across our state and thankful for every first responder, behavioral health professional, and community partner committed to this mission. 💛

The MSHP credited CIT mental health training for a trooper's actions during a chase.

🚑💙 This National EMS Week, we proudly recognize and thank the dedicated EMS professionals who answer the call when people need help most.

Every day, EMS providers step into unpredictable situations with courage, compassion, and professionalism. They are there during some of the hardest moments in a person’s life, bringing calm to chaos, providing lifesaving care, and offering reassurance when it matters most. Their commitment to serving others does not go unnoticed.

From emergency calls and critical incidents to community support and patient care, EMS professionals work tirelessly around the clock to keep our communities safe. The sacrifices they make, the long hours they work, and the care they provide leave a lasting impact on countless lives each day.

To all EMS personnel across Missouri and beyond — thank you for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering service. We are grateful for everything you do and the difference you make every single day.

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the courageous law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. These men and women dedicated their lives to protecting others, standing in the gap during moments of danger, uncertainty, and crisis. Their commitment to service and the safety of others will never be forgotten.

We also recognize the families, friends, coworkers, and agencies who continue to carry the weight of that loss every day. Behind every badge is a person who chose a life of service, and behind every fallen officer is a community forever impacted by their sacrifice.

Law enforcement officers across this country show up each day willing to face challenges most people will never fully see or understand. Today is a reminder of the bravery, selflessness, and dedication it takes to serve others, often at great personal cost.

As we remember the fallen, we also extend our gratitude to those who continue to serve with integrity, compassion, and courage. Their work matters, and their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

Please join us in honoring the lives and legacies of the officers who gave everything in the line of duty. We will never forget their service, their sacrifice, or the impact they made on the communities they swore to protect. 💙🖤
