MSCA leadership recently participated in the Elevate Leadership event hosted by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), joining school counselor leaders from across the country for engaging discussions, inspiring presentations, and valuable networking opportunities.

Children's Mercy is hosting their 48th Annual School Health Conference
on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Children’s Mercy Research Institute, 2401 Gillham Road | Kansas City, MO 64018

This annual conference is for school nurses and school health professionals who are providing care for children in the school setting. The focus of the conference this year is on current mental and physical health issues. Attendees can expect interactive presentations, an interactive Expo with educational exhibits and hands-on skills stations with pediatric and community experts, and networking opportunities throughout the conference.

MSCA Emerging Leader Program

Interested in leadership opportunities and becoming more involved? Apply for the MSCA’s Emerging Leader Program - The goal of the MSCA Emerging Leaders Program is to identify potential leaders within the school counseling profession in Missouri and to provide them with opportunities to become actively involved with MSCA. All application information must be emailed to the MSCA Leadership Advisory Chair ([email protected]) and must be received by June 30th (deadline extended for 2026).

Emerging leaders must:

Be a member of the Missouri School Counselor Association

Have attended the MSCA Fall Conference 1+ years

Be employed as a professional school counselor in Missouri (possess a valid certificate and is employed by a school district)

Possess leadership skills and a desire to participate in furthering the mission and vision of MSCA through personal enthusiasm, professional advocacy, and active contribution
