The graduation celebrations continue for some of our nursing team members. Surgical Services Director Michelle Carpenter earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Gardner-Webb University on May 8. On May 14, Ali Eller, RN, had her pinning from Wilkes Community College. She’ll continue working on Med/Surg. Congratulations to these two wonderful team members on their accomplishments! 🎓🎉

The safety of our community is our top priority and that begins with our students. On May 15, we held our annual Heart of a Husky health screening event for middle and high-school student-athletes. All 407 students who participated received a sports physical, cardiac screening and EKG with incoming freshman also receiving a concussion screening. The goal of the event is to ensure that all of our Huskies have a safe and healthy season. Thank you to our AMH providers as well as Addie Fairchild, FNP, from Bluehill Health and Wellness and Dr. Stevens and Dr. Karimy from Seven Peaks Family Medicine for volunteering your time to help keep our students safe. This event wouldn’t be possible without our continued partnership with Ashe Medics, Inc, Ashe County Public Schools and Blue Ridge Energy.

It's National Hospital Week and we can't think of a better time to celebrate our amazing team members for all that they do for our patients, their families, our community and one another. We've spent the week enjoying food, music, field day games, themed spirit days and participating in our dunk tank and pie-in-the-face fundraisers. Ashe Memorial Hospital is consistently rated the best place to work in Ashe County and it's because of the people. Thank you to our Dietary and Plant Engineering teams for all of your help during Hospital Week. We truly appreciate all that you do!
