The person who makes you feel safest will also access your deepest wounds.
They'll accidentally say the thing that sounds exactly like what your parent said. They'll withdraw in ways that trigger your abandonment. They'll need reassurance in ways that feel suffocating.
This isn't a sign you chose wrong.
It's a sign you chose someone close enough to touch the parts of you that still need healing.
The question isn't whether your partner will trigger you. It's whether you both have the skills to navigate those moments with care instead of reactivity.
That's the difference between a triggering relationship and a healing one.
