Today we congratulate our own Mario F. Daniels, Marketing & Public Relations Manager, on being named a 2026 Jersey City Puerto Rican Heritage & Culture Parade Honoree! Mario was recognized at the Una Noche En San Juan Gala held at the Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City.

An award-winning creative strategist and U.S. Army veteran, Mario brings over 15 years of public health and advocacy experience to the Medical Center, working daily with hospital teams and physicians to advance healthcare outreach in Hudson County.

Congratulations, Mario, on this well-deserved recognition and your continued dedication to keeping our community healthy and connected!

As families prepare for a new school year, Jersey City Medical Center is once again helping local students start the year ready.

Join us for our annual Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway on Wednesday, August 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at JCMC-Greenville.

Families can receive a free backpack with school supplies while supplies last. Both a parent and child must be present to receive a backpack.

The event will also include an informational fair where families can learn more about programs and services available through JCMC-Greenville.

Please join us in welcoming Maria, Jersey City Medical Center’s new Administrative Fellow.

Maria earned a master’s degree in public health with a focus on health systems and policy from Rutgers School of Public Health. She brings experience in pharmacy administration and previously worked within RWJBarnabas Health at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital.

In her new role, Maria looks forward to learning alongside Jersey City Medical Center’s senior leadership team while supporting efforts to improve health equity, operational efficiency and the patient experience. We are excited to welcome her back to RWJBarnabas Health and to the Jersey City Medical Center community.

Dr. Michael Benz, of our Heart and Vascular Team, presented at the 2026 ACVS Conference at the Trident, Hyderabad!

A premier conference for interventionalists, this year’s discussions pushed the boundaries of patient care with Dr. Benz sharing his expertise across several sessions focused on Advanced Structural Care: Key updates and techniques in TAVR, Mitral, and Tricuspid TEER.

Additionally, he presented “Disaster in the Cath Lab: Annular Rupture During TAVR/TAVI and Lessons Learned” a masterclasse on how split-second decisions save lives in the Cath Lab, offering attendees actionable strategies to predict, manage, and overcome annular ruptures.
