Speech Language & Hearing Month: SLP Ms. Hannah ✨

One of Hannah’s favorite parts of being an SLP is seeing the moment something finally clicks for a child and watching their confidence grow in their skills 💛

She wishes more people understood just how broad the field of speech-language pathology really is 🗣️✨ SLPs support so much more than articulation from language and feeding to AAC and voice!

Hannah loves incorporating each child’s unique interests into therapy sessions. Whether it’s Pokémon, video games, or something completely different, seeing kids excited and fully invested in therapy makes sessions so meaningful and fun.

One thing her patients constantly teach her is how to be silly and enjoy the moment. She loves when kids bring out her playful side and make her feel like a kid again too 🫶🏽

Outside of work, you can usually find Hannah antiquing and going to estate sales, reading 📚, or needlepointing 🧵💕 And if you peek inside her therapy bag, you’ll definitely find stickers, balloon race cars, and Play-Doh!

For Speech-Language-Hearing Month, here’s our next SLP Spotlight Ms. Kendall ✨

Kendall’s favorite part of being an SLP is making kids feel seen and heard!! Watching them grow in confidence and communication is what makes this work so special.

One thing she wishes more people understood is that early intervention truly works. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek support from doctors, teachers, friends, or specialists.

Favorite therapy game: Pictionary 📝
Something kids teach her every day: Patience
Biggest strength in therapy: Building connections with kids naturally ✨
Outside of work: Enjoys going to the beach 🏖️
Fun fact: Never takes naps 💤

If her therapy bag only had room for 3 things: a pen, bubbles, and Squigz!

Speech Language & Hearing Month Spotlight: SLP Mrs. Alyah 💬✨

Meet one of our amazing SLPs who is passionate about helping children find their voice in every form of communication 💛

Alyah’s favorite part of being an SLP is watching each child’s progress and being part of their communication journey across every stage of life. She loves reminding families that communication is so much more than verbal speech it’s gestures, body language, AAC devices, and behaviors all matter too. 🫶🏽

Her favorite therapy game is The Animal Clinic because it helps build labeling, actions, and functional language while keeping therapy fun and engaging!

Outside of work, you can probably find her shopping the latest sale 🛍️ or deep-diving into documentaries and research because no question ever goes unanswered.

One thing therapy has taught her: communication comes in many forms, and every child deserves to be understood. Her biggest strength is meeting kids where they are, joining their world first, and helping them connect with the world around them. 🌎

🚀 OT Month Spotlight: Darlene 💫

Also known as our Strength & Scissor Skills Specialist ✂️💪

Darlene brings a calm, intentional approach to therapy, helping kids build independence and confidence in the skills they need for everyday life. She loves being part of each child’s journey—watching progress unfold over time and celebrating those meaningful moments that lead to real growth 👏

You’ll often find her using theraputty to level up hand strength and control (because those scissor skills aren’t going to build themselves ✂️). It’s all about making functional skills fun while keeping kids engaged and challenged in just the right way

One of her favorite “big” wins? When families start noticing progress outside of therapy, at home, at school, and in the community. That carryover is everything 🙌

Outside of the clinic, Darlene stays busy with a little bit of everything running, being outdoors, playing mahjong, and spending time with friends and family ☀️

Fuel of choice?
Iced sugar-free vanilla latte with oat milk 🤍

End-of-day reset =
Cozy in bed, favorite shows on, snacks within reach 🍿

Fun fact: learning how to manage frustration and stick with hard things? Yep… that’s OT too 😉

Sometimes the biggest speech wins don’t look like “speech” at all 🌼

Today’s session was all about building a flower garden but underneath the play, we were working on so much more:
✨ expanding descriptive language (“pink flower,” “tall stem,” “little bug”)
✨ building longer sentences
✨ strengthening play skills and imagination
✨ and most importantly… establishing connection 🤍

Because before language grows, connection has to come first.

🚀 It’s OT Month, and we’re highlighting our incredible OT team: next up, Madison 💫

Also known as our Obstacle Course Architect 🛠️

Madison brings the perfect mix of connection, creativity, and just-right challenge to every session. She loves building relationships with her kids and families while helping them make meaningful progress because those “they couldn’t do this last week” moments never get old 👏

You’ll often find her turning therapy into an obstacle course adventure, rescuing toys from duct tape and keeping kids moving, playing, and strengthening their skills without even realizing it 💪

One of her favorite moments in therapy? When a child initiates play for the first time. It may seem small, but it’s a huge sign they’re feeling regulated, connected, and ready to engage 🥹

Outside of the clinic, Madison is either walking every aisle of TJ Maxx or Target like it’s a sport 🛍️ or recharging with a long walk, her dog, and a cozy night under a heated blanket with reality TV

Fueling it all? An iced vanilla latte… with an extra shot of espresso when needed ✨

Fun fact: learning how to stick with something even when it’s hard = OT magic (and a little bit of Madison 😉)

✨ OT spotlight: Motor Skills Maddy ✨

Maddy chose OT because she’s always had a heart for helping people across the lifespan and found the perfect mix of movement, play, and purpose. What keeps her going? The big and little wins… and those sweet smiles every session 🥹

Right now, she’s all about fine motor in tummy time (because why work on one skill when you can sneak in five? 💪). And her definition of a BIG win? Seeing in-hand manipulation and functional grasps click and watching her patients feel calm and regulated in their little bodies 🙌

Her OT one-liner for parents:
Through play-based interventions, we help your child reach their maximum functional potential by targeting fine motor skills, coordination, sensory processing, and emotional regulation ✨

A skill she’s working on daily that might surprise you? Cognitive flexibility (aka helping kids roll with the punches when things don’t go their way 😅).

Outside of work, she’s reading, podcast-ing, sudoku-ing, and staying active with yoga and strength training 🧘‍♀️

Fuel of choice? ☕️ Black coffee with a little honey—non-negotiable.
Reset routine? Patio time with her dogs after a long day 🐶💛

We love you, Maddy!! 🚀
