Day 4 at GTI is in the books, and our Anchored Junior Board students continue to grow as prevention leaders!
This morning's opening session focused on healthy decision-making. Students were presented with real-life scenarios and challenged to think through how they could respond in healthy, positive ways. These discussions helped them recognize the importance of making choices that align with their values, goals, and overall well-being.
During our AJB team meeting, students continued strengthening their prevention plan by developing an impactful SMART goal statement. It's exciting to watch their ideas take shape as they turn their passion for prevention into actionable steps for creating change in our community. Our youth have no shortage of ideas, creativity, or determination when it comes to promoting wellness and preventing substance misuse!
As our time at GTI begins to wind down, we're reflecting on all that these students have learned throughout the week—from leadership and collaboration to prevention strategies and community change. The growth we've seen has been incredible.
Tomorrow, our team will begin the journey home, bringing back new knowledge, new friendships, and a renewed commitment to making a difference in Wayne County.
