🍂 Planning to visit Jim Thorpe for Fall Foliage Festival weekends?🍂

Our biggest local tip? PLAN AHEAD… and STAY! 🧡

Fall foliage weekends are magical here, AND they are also VERY busy. Crowds are huge, parking fills quickly, restaurant waits can be extremely long, and some businesses have even run out of food during the busiest weekends.

A few tips from your local friends at River Lotus:

🏡 Stay overnight.
Instead of trying to squeeze everything into one day, make a weekend of it! There are so many beautiful short-term rentals and hotels right in and around town.

🚗 Have a parking plan.
Don’t arrive assuming you’ll find a convenient spot. Know where you’re going to park before you get here and be prepared to walk. Also, do not park in the neighborhood you will come back to find your car missing and JTPD will happily show you where you can bail it out of for a hefty fee

🥪 Pack your own snacks + water.
You’ll be glad you did when the lines are long and you need a little something between adventures.

🍽️ Make restaurant reservations when you can.
And consider venturing outside the heart of downtown for a meal. You’ll often find shorter waits, more breathing room, and some wonderful local gems.

🚻 Plan your potty breaks!
This one is important. With massive crowds, public restroom access can be limited, and private businesses and restaurants are not obligated to provide restroom access to people who aren't their customers.

🏡 Please respect private property.
Jim Thorpe isn't just a tourist destination — it's an active town where people live, work and play.
That porch you want to sit on? Someone lives there.
That backyard you want to wander through? Someone lives there.
And yes… please do not use someone's yard as a bathroom. 😳

Slow down. Spend the night. Eat another meal. Grab coffee. Shop local. Explore another trail. Support the small businesses and residents who make Jim Thorpe so special.

I pray we remember everyday that overdose is preventable.
