Did you know that wine and cheese may help protect your brain?

A study led by a team at Iowa State University examined data from more than 1,500 UK adults to explore links between diet and age-related cognitive decline.

Cheese was, by far, the most protective food, said the researchers, after analyzing dietary survey data and cognitive test results on participants, gathered over a 10-year period.

The research, published in the November 2020 issue of the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, also highlighted red wine for its links to improved brain function.

Never talk about someone living with dementia as if they aren’t in the room.

Living with dementia doesn’t mean they can’t hear or see what’s going on around you. The more we treat people living with dementia as functioning people in our society, the happier and more functional they will be.
