FDA approves new non-opioid, post-operative pain medication.

The U.S. health regulator has approved Hyloris Pharmaceuticals' drug for post-operative pain, the Belgium-based company said on Wednesday, adding that it expects to launch the non-opioid treatment in the United States by early next year.

A QUICK OVERVIEW OF THE WASTE REFUND ACT: Required CMS Refunds Effective January 1, 2023.

As part of the infrastructure bill passed in 2021, the Waste Refund Act requires drug companies to reimburse Medicare for certain wasted medications leftover in single-use containers.

Healthcare facilities (hospitals, ASC's, etc.) that do not report their wastage refunds correctly could be at risk of failed audits and being charged with healthcare fraud.
