Some of the deepest suffering is not visible on a scan, in a laboratory result, or even across a consultation room.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, and throughout Su***de Prevention Month, I am reminded of something medicine can never afford to forget:

Behind every diagnosis is a human being.

A serious illness can change far more than the body.

It can affect confidence.
Relationships.
Independence.
Identity.
The way someone imagines tomorrow.

After decades in medicine, I believe the future of healthcare must be about more than developing better treatments.

It must also be about becoming better at seeing the person who is living through the illness.

That means listening when the suffering is not obvious.

Making room for conversations that may be difficult.

Recognizing emotional and psychological well-being as part of caring for the whole person—not something separate from “real medicine.”

And building healthcare systems, in Egypt and around the world, where scientific excellence and human connection strengthen one another.

Because ultimately, the question cannot only be:

“Did we treat the disease?”

We must also be willing to ask:

“Did we truly care for the person experiencing it?”

A patient is never just a diagnosis.

Sometimes the most powerful medicine begins with a conversation.

What message of hope would you share today?

Egypt already has the people who can shape the future of healthcare.

The physicians.
The innovators.
The researchers.
The institutions.
The Egyptian expertise around the world.

But great possibilities do not happen simply because great people exist.

They happen when someone asks:

Who connects them?

Who brings the right minds into the same room?
Who connects experience with opportunity?
Who connects healthcare excellence with a global vision?

Because the future of healthcare will belong to the ecosystems that know how to bring talent, knowledge, and leadership together.

Egypt has extraordinary potential.

The next chapter will be shaped by those who recognize the opportunity — and those who have the vision to connect what already exists.

This September, I look forward to conversations with those who are helping shape Egypt’s healthcare future.

The question is not whether the pieces exist.

The question is: Who connects them?

What if Egypt’s greatest healthcare opportunity is not something we need to build… but something we need to connect?

Egypt is already building hospitals.
Egypt already has talented physicians.
Egypt already has dedicated healthcare professionals.

But the question that will define the next chapter is:

How do we connect the people, knowledge, innovation, and leadership already inside the system?

Because the strongest healthcare systems are not built by infrastructure alone.

They are built by:

✅ Trust
✅ Collaboration
✅ Measurable excellence
✅ Leaders who put people first

As a physician with Egyptian roots and global experience, I believe Egypt has an extraordinary opportunity:

To connect its medical talent with new partnerships, new ideas, and a new vision for healthcare leadership.

The future belongs to the countries that don’t just build more…

They connect better.

I will be in Egypt this September meeting with physicians, healthcare leaders, innovators, and those who are helping shape what comes next.

If you are building, investing, leading, or contributing to Egypt’s healthcare future — I would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Some of Egypt’s most valuable healthcare intelligence may already be in the room.

Not every breakthrough begins with a new machine, a new platform, or something imported from abroad.

Sometimes it begins with a nurse noticing a change before it appears in a report.

A physician recognizing a pattern.

A frontline team seeing where communication, workflow, or patient experience is starting to break down.

That is not “just experience.”

That is intelligence.

Egypt already has extraordinary medical talent inside its hospitals and healthcare institutions.

The opportunity now is to build systems where what people see at the bedside can travel quickly enough to reach the people empowered to act on it.

Because when frontline insight becomes leadership intelligence, better decisions can follow.

The question is not only what Egypt can bring in.
It is also how much more value Egypt can unlock from what it already has.

If you are leading, building, practicing, or investing in healthcare in Egypt, this is a conversation I would genuinely like to continue.

The world already comes to Egypt.
But what else could the world come to Egypt for? 🇪🇬

For me, that question goes far beyond tourism.

Egypt already has remarkable medical talent, hospitality, history, geographic reach, and an ability to welcome people from around the world.

Now imagine connecting those strengths around something deeply human:

Health. Prevention. Precision. Longevity. Trust.

Not simply bringing someone to Egypt for a procedure — but creating an experience where a patient feels confident before they arrive, cared for while they are here, and connected to care long after they return home.

That is the opportunity I keep thinking about.

This September, I am returning to Egypt to listen, reconnect, and have meaningful conversations with physicians, healthcare leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, and others who see possibilities worth exploring.

Because Egypt does not need another beautiful slogan about its potential.

It needs the right people connecting the strengths that already exist.

And sometimes, one conversation is where something important begins.

If you are working in healthcare, longevity, hospitality, innovation, investment, or international partnerships in Egypt, I would be very glad to connect.

Let’s build what comes next.

The future of Egypt’s growth may depend on something we rarely call infrastructure: health.

When people are healthier, families are stronger. Talent has more room to grow. Communities become more resilient. And a nation gains greater capacity to learn, lead, create, work, and build.

For me, Egypt’s healthcare future is not only about responding to illness. It is about connecting prevention, precision, trust, human potential, and stronger systems into a larger vision for what Egypt can become.

Because when people become stronger, nations can dream bigger.

Better health builds brighter nations.

As I prepare for this next chapter, I welcome thoughtful conversations with those who are building, investing, leading, educating, innovating, and contributing to Egypt’s future.

What could Egypt become if better health became one of its greatest national strengths?

That is a question I keep coming back to.

Healthcare is not only about treating illness. It is about helping people live longer, stay stronger, remain productive, care for their families, and contribute fully to their communities.

And when that happens, the impact reaches much further than the clinic.

Stronger people.
Stronger families.
Stronger communities.
A stronger Egypt.

Higher standards matter.
Measurable outcomes matter.
Trust and transparency matter.

Because when people trust the care they receive—and when excellence can be demonstrated—healthcare becomes more than a service.

It becomes part of a nation’s strength.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, I am looking forward to listening, learning, and speaking with the people already shaping its healthcare future.

If you could strengthen one part of Egypt’s health future for the next generation, where would you begin?

I was born in Egypt. I built much of my medical career in America. And now I am coming home with a belief that has only grown stronger with time: Egypt has an extraordinary opportunity to help shape the future of global healthcare. 🇪🇬

Egypt already has remarkable physicians, respected institutions, international expertise, human talent, hospitality, and a culture the world knows and values.

I believe the next opportunity is to build on those strengths — bringing prevention, personalized medicine, patient experience, education, innovation, and international collaboration even closer together.

Always with the human being at the center.

I am returning to listen, contribute, collaborate, and meet the people already helping move Egypt forward.

What possibilities for Egypt’s healthcare future excite you most?

Cancer care is never only about the cancer.

A diagnosis enters a medical chart — but it also enters a family.

It changes routines.
Relationships.
Priorities.
And sometimes the way the future feels.

Throughout my years in medicine, one truth has remained constant: excellent cancer care must address more than the disease itself.

The person living through cancer still has fears, goals, responsibilities, relationships, and a life beyond the diagnosis.

That is why I believe truly patient-centered cancer care should bring together:

• Clinical excellence
• Clear communication
• Continuity of care
• Quality of life
• Family support
• The patient’s own priorities

Treat the disease seriously. Care for the whole person completely.

As I prepare to return to Egypt, I look forward to exchanging perspectives with physicians and healthcare leaders already advancing cancer care and exploring how stronger collaboration can continue improving the patient journey.

Because beyond every diagnosis is still a person — and a family — living through it.

What do you believe truly compassionate, patient-centered cancer care must include?
