From a Homeland Security article about cybercrime: “The 2025 CyberTipline data from NCMEC shows how rapidly online threats to children are evolving. In 2025, NCMEC received more than 21 million reports containing 61.8 million images, videos and other files related to the child sexual exploitation incident being reported. Over 1.5 million involved the use of generative artificial intelligence to create or manipulate CSAM, underscoring AI’s growing role in facilitating abuse.”
Sextortion, enticement, financial exploitation, cyber bullying, grooming. It’s all happening online. Most parents believe their children would know better and most children don’t expect to be victims. However, online victimization is increasing everyday.
