Strength Starts with Stability.
When most people think about getting stronger, they picture lifting heavier weights.
But true strength begins with stability.
Every movement on the Reformer challenges your body to stabilize before it produces force, engaging your core, improving coordination, and building strength that carries over into everyday life.
The science supports it.
A systematic review of 16 randomized controlled trials found strong evidence that Pilates improves dynamic balance and moderate evidence that it improves muscular endurance.
A second systematic review of 11 randomized controlled trials found that Pilates improves dynamic strength, isometric strength, muscular endurance, balance, and flexibility at levels comparable to other established forms of exercise.
At Downtown Yoga Center, our small class sizes, limited to just five Balanced Body Reformers, allow us to provide individualized instruction so every movement is intentional, safe, and effective.
Whether your goal is to build strength, improve athletic performance, move with greater confidence, or simply feel stronger in your everyday life, Reformer Pilates provides an evidence-based approach that meets you where you are.
Evidence-based movement. Community-centered care.
Ready to experience the difference? We'd love to welcome you to class.
