🏕️ Cherry Hill Manor residents recently enjoyed a cozy indoor campfire treat — delicious s’mores crescent rolls!🔥🍫 These easy, tasty treats were made by rolling mini marshmallows and chocolate chips inside crescent rolls, then baking them according to the package directions.

Everyone enjoyed the sweet snack, along with a little reminiscing about making s’mores and spending time around a campfire. 🪵 A simple treat that brought back wonderful memories! 😋

A Special Connection at Cherry Hill Manor 🌟

Rhode Island truly is such a small state — and sometimes life brings people together in the most meaningful ways.

Dr. Michael Battey, a podiatrist who cares for patients at Cherry Hill Manor, recently discovered a very special connection with one of our residents, Connie. After reading the obituary of his longtime friend, Donald Prosser, Dr. Battey noticed the name of Donald’s sister, Constance. The name sounded familiar, and he realized he knew a Connie here at Cherry Hill Manor. Wanting to offer his condolences, he visited Connie — and immediately saw a framed drawing of Donald hanging on her wall. As they spoke, Dr. Battey and Connie shared memories of Donald and his family.

Dr. Battey later went through his photo albums and brought her several dozen treasured photos of the adventures he and his wife Susan shared with Donald and his wife Valerie, including trips to the French Riviera and Venice. Connie was so happy to see these wonderful photos and to reminisce about her brother. It was especially meaningful for her to meet the “Michael” she had heard about through Donald’s stories over the years.

In Dr. Battey’s words: "My wife Susan and I first met Donald Prosser, and his wife Valerie, in the early 1980s. We became fast friends, and our time together quickly evolved into travel. Among our trips were wonderful experiences in the Caribbean, France and Italy. Don and Val moved to Boca Raton Florida approximately 23 years ago, limiting our contact. Valerie became ill approximately 2 years ago and ended up succumbing to her illness in 2025. This devastated Donald as he was lost without her. Donald passed in early 2026. When I read the obituary I saw that he had a sister named Constance (Last Name Redacted). That rang a bell as the name of a patient I knew at Cherry Hill. The ages seemed to line up and I took a chance and went to visit Connie and ask her. No longer did I enter the room then I saw a painting of Donald framed on her wall... Since then, Connie and I have spoken about Donald and his family who became very close to my family. Connie did not have many photos at all of Donald and Val. I went to my photo albums and collected a few dozen poignant and humorous photos from trips to the French Riviera and Venice and gave them to Connie earlier this year. I think that she really appreciated having these pictures to look at, and I am grateful in that talking with Connie helps keep my memories of Donald vivid."

❤️ What a beautiful reminder that the connections we make throughout life can continue to bring comfort, joy, and cherished memories.

We were thrilled to welcome our corporate leadership team to tour our beautiful facility, meet our dedicated staff, and engage with our wonderful residents during a lively lunch.

It was a proud moment to showcase the vibrant energy of our building and the incredible work our team does every day. A special highlight was their visit with Pam, our beloved receptionist, who has been with us for an astonishing 49 years! Pictured with Pam are: Zo Long, DVP; Kate O’Connor, RVP; Pam Chin; Todd Fletcher, President; and Aubrey Preston, CEO.

They and the rest of the cooperate team, observed our activities staff’s dynamic activities and enjoyed a pop-up music session during lunch. Our staff had the opportunity to connect with team members from Tennessee, sharing insights about the unique culture and compassionate care that define our community.

Thanks to the unwavering support from our corporate office, we continue to thrive as a premier care provider in the area. We are immensely proud to have maintained a Medicare-approved Five-Star rating for many consecutive years. This achievement reflects the remarkable teamwork and dedication of our management and staff, many of whom have been part of our family for over a decade—some for nearly half a century! What truly sets us apart is the enduring relationships we’ve built with families across generations. Many have entrusted us with the care of their loved ones, returning time and again because of the familiar, caring faces and comforting environment we provide.

From our nursing staff, CNAs, rehab team, activity coordinators, food service, environmental crew, and laundry services—our team embodies the Life Care mission with passion and longevity. ❤️

🇺🇸 Recently, our residents came together to celebrate the 4th of July with a wonderful cookout!

🍔🌭 After having to reschedule because of the recent heat wave, we were grateful for absolutely perfect weather. Our Activity Department created a festive atmosphere while grilling delicious hamburgers and hot dogs, served alongside potato salad and chips. The meal began with a cool cucumber salad prepared by our kitchen and ended with sweet, refreshing watermelon! 🍉

Resident favorite Billy V kept everyone entertained with great music. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with food, fun, music, and smiles! ❤️🤍💙

🎉 Last week we had the pleasure of celebrating CNA Week with a full week of fun, appreciation, and well‑deserved recognition. 🩺

💗Our residents helped make it extra special for our CNAs by creating heartfelt gifts and sharing thoughtful words of gratitude. Each CNA also received a cheerful keychain with a happy message to brighten their day and remind them how valued they are.

♨️ We wrapped up the week with a special cookout luncheon just for them, where they could relax, enjoy great food, and drop raffle tickets in for a chance at some fabulous prizes. Every CNA also went home with a new backpack and water bottle as a small token of our appreciation. To all of our CNAs: thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for the compassion, dedication, and hard work you bring to our nursing home every single day. You are truly the heart of our community, and all of our Nurses, staff, and residents are so grateful for you. 🫶
