DEADLY NEW DRUG: A synthetic opioid up to 10 times more potent than fentanyl has been linked to at least 55 deaths across multiple states, officials say.

Cychlorphine, which is theoretically 500 times more potent than morphine or he**in, has been detected in counterfeit pills and illicit drugs — and standard fentanyl test strips cannot detect it.

Health officials warn that reversing an overdose from the drug may require five or six doses of Narcan instead of the usual one or two.

The DEA will move four kratom-related drugs to the most restrictive legal category, the DOJ announced Friday.

The move will relegate products with more than a certain amount of 7-OH (7-hydroxymitragynine), MGPI (mitragynine pseudoindoxyl), MGM-15 and MGM-16 into Schedule I, a legal category reserved for drugs with a high potential for abuse and no medical application.

🚨 URGENT: Authorities urge people to avoid herbal extract kratom after two University of Mississippi students were found dead following the weekend's Ole Miss-LSU game.

While no connection has been confirmed, packaged kratom was found during investigations into both deaths.
