What if early signs of dyslexia could be identified through something as simple — and powerful — as letter formation? ✏️📱

The 5th Annual ArkSHA Summer Schools Conference is excited to feature Early Identification of Dyslexia Characteristics Through Letter Formation: Developing a Technology-Enhanced Screening Tool for Young Learners presented by Arianne Pait.

This innovative session explores how technology, handwriting analysis, and machine learning may help transform early dyslexia screening for kindergarten and first-grade students. Using Apple Pencil technology and high-resolution stroke data, this developing iPadOS application examines handwriting and grapheme production patterns before formal reading instruction begins — opening the door for earlier identification and intervention opportunities.

Participants will explore:

✨ Why early identification is critical for student outcomes
✨ How biometrics and handwriting analysis may identify dyslexia risk factors
