AMMC is excited to announce it is now a designated milk donation depot, in partnership with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Milk Bank. The AMMC Milk Depot is a designated space for women to donate milk, which will be sent to the UAMS Milk Bank for screening, pasteurization and nutritional analysis. After processing, milk will be sent, according to need, to hospitals throughout Arkansas. Before making a donation, donors must contact the AMMC Milk Bank, which will guide them through a screening process. The AMMC Milk Depot is located in Arkansas Methodist Medical Center’s Women’s Services unit at 900 West Kingshighway in Paragould. For more information on donating, please call (870) 239-7051. Ya’ll I had a moment.

I’m the first to say that home birth is not for everyone, and that’s okay.

I’m also the first to celebrate respectful, supportive hospital L&D care! I work with some incredible physicians, nurses and CNMs.

But just as high risk people cannot and should not birth at home…

Those who are healthy, aren’t actually “candidates” for hospitalization.

Electively admitting ourselves to an ICU environment for what is essentially an involuntary bodily process is only a “thing” due to the medical lobby hijacking birth from women and midwives and making birth into a business a century ago.

Hospital birth is just a historical coup d'etat.

Modern day colonization.

A social construct, not settled science.*
