Service Coordinator | StepOne Service™
The Service Coordinator is the face of StepOne Service™ in the community—building meaningful relationships, increasing awareness of the service, and helping connect individuals experiencing alcohol or opioid withdrawal with compassionate hospital-based care.
What You’ll Do
🤝 Build meaningful community relationships: with treatment providers, recovery organizations, healthcare professionals, behavioral health agencies, first responders, courts, social service organizations, and other community partners.
🌎 Get out into the community: This is not a sit-behind-a-desk role. You’ll attend community events, coalition meetings, networking opportunities, educational presentations, and agency visits throughout your territory.
❤️ Help create access to care: Educate community partners about StepOne Service™ and help them understand when and how individuals can access hospital-based acute withdrawal management services.
🏥 Serve as the connection: between the hospital and the community, ensuring local organizations understand the StepOne program, admission process, and populations we can serve.
📣 Be a passionate ambassador for StepOne Service™: clearly communicating our mission and helping reduce barriers and stigma surrounding substance use and withdrawal care.
📈 Grow program utilization: by developing strong, sustainable relationships with organizations serving individuals who may benefit from StepOne.
🧭 Own and develop your territory: Identify opportunities, prioritize high-impact organizations, develop outreach strategies, and continuously learn what your community needs.
🎤 Educate and present: Provide presentations, trainings, and program education to community organizations and professional groups.
🎪 Represent StepOne at community events: resource fairs, conferences, recovery events, coalition meetings, and other opportunities where meaningful connections can be made.
💡 Think creatively: Develop new ways to increase awareness, strengthen partnerships, and make StepOne a trusted resource within the community.
📊 Use data to guide outreach: Track relationship development, community activity, utilization trends, and opportunities to ensure your time in the field is making an impact.
🤝 Collaborate closely with hospital and StepOne leadership: sharing community feedback, identifying barriers to care, and helping develop solutions.
🌱 Become a trusted community resource—not simply a marketer: The strongest Service Coordinators are known in their communities as people who connect, educate, collaborate, and genuinely want to help.
Who Thrives in This Role?
Someone who is energetic, compassionate, self-motivated, organized, comfortable talking to anyone, and excited to spend their days building relationships rather than sitting behind a computer. You should also have experience working with individuals impacted by Substance Use Disorder, as you will cover Care Coordinator responsibilities when/if the individual in the role is absent.
