Such a huge loss for our community. Much love to all of those in the ASCENT and ROCC families.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our founder and Executive Director, Teddy Steen.

Teddy was the heart of The ROCC and ASCENT. She built this organization with fierce love, deep conviction, and an unwavering belief in people and the power of recovery. She showed up every day with honesty, humor, and a kind of courage that could not be taught.

To know Teddy was to be encouraged, challenged, and cared for all at once. She celebrated others loudly, told the truth when it mattered, and never stopped fighting for the mission she believed in. Her impact on this community, and on each of us personally, is immeasurable.

We are devastated by this loss, and we know many of you are too. While our hearts are heavy, we are committed to honoring Teddy by continuing the work she started and carrying her vision forward.

We ask for your prayers, love, and patience for her family, our staff, and all those grieving her deeply.

Thank you so much to the Rotary Club of Joplin for your continued support of healthcare in our community!

Each year, the Jopin Rotary Club's Community Fund supports local non-profit organizations. Today, we awarded $21,850 to the Area Agency on Aging Region X, Economic Security Corporation 's CARS Program, International, Boys & Girls Club of Southwest Missouri, Schroeder Family Exploreum, Aspire Scholarship of Southwest Missouri, and the Community Clinic of Southwest Missouri. Thank you to these hard-working organizations. Proceeds from our weekly raffle and last month's Golf Scramble made this possible.

​Higher Power Garage was hit by thieves recently, and we are absolutely devastated. Several catalytic converters were stolen right off of our donated vehicles.
​As a small non-profit, we operate on a tight budget to serve our neighbors, and we simply cannot afford this type of loss. On average, a single catalytic converter costs about $1,000 to replace—and having multiple stolen completely derails our ability to help people. These vehicles were generously donated by community members to help the community, and it breaks our hearts that someone would take away from those in need.

​📞 Report tips: If you saw anything suspicious near the shop, or if you have any information at all, please contact the Joplin Police Department immediately or send us a direct message.

For the past two Wednesdays, we have been blessed by the powerful prayers of the Watchman on the Wall Pastor’s Prayer Ministries. This amazing group of individuals visit with the staff at the clinic, learn about our personal and professional needs, and spend time in prayer for us and our community. They pray for our patients, our volunteers, our staff, and mostly that we can bless one another through our service. Thank you, Watchmen on the Wall, for lifting us up and for continuing to pray for us as we move along our journeys. Much love to each of you.
