“Are you retiring, Dr. Stephen Menke?”

No, I’m not going anywhere anytime soon! I’ve had several people ask recently, so I wanted to clear that up. Dr. Evan and I will be here working side by side for quite some time.

I still genuinely enjoy coming to work every day, and getting to practice alongside my son has made this stage of my career even more rewarding. It’s been a lot of fun, and I look forward to continuing to care for our patients together for many years to come!

One of my favorite parts of practicing back home, is reconnecting with people I grew up with and seeing familiar faces in this new chapter of life. It’s a big part of why coming back to Joplin felt like the right decision for our family.

The first photo is of Scottie and I back in high school, and the second is from his recent visit in the office. Seeing someone I’ve known for that long sitting in my dental chair was a pretty cool full-circle moment.

It’s been a long time coming, but today I can officially welcome my son, Dr. Evan Menke, to the practice.

Evan recently graduated from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and will now be joining me here in Joplin.

After years away pursuing his education and building his career, Evan, his wife Audrey, and their three children are moving back home to Joplin. We’re excited to have them back and even more excited that their hometown is where they’ve chosen to build this next chapter of life.

As a dad, I couldn’t be more proud. Watching Evan work toward this goal for years and seeing it become reality has been special. As a dentist, I’m excited to work alongside him and continue caring for patients together.

Please help us welcome Dr. Evan Menke back home and into the office. We’re excited for what’s ahead!!

After 37 years of caring for patients in our office, we said goodbye to Bonnie today as she begins her next chapter in life, retirement.

For so many of our patients, Bonnie has been a familiar and comforting face! She was always greeting everyone with a smile and taking the time to really care.

She has served this office and our community with so much love and consistency over the years. Always dependable, always kind, and always showing up with a positive attitude.

It’s been such an honor to work alongside her and see the impact she’s made on so many people, beyond just those that sat in her chair.

Bonnie, we can’t thank you enough for the years you’ve given to this office and this community. You will be greatly missed, but we are so excited for you as you step into this next chapter.

Wishing you all the best in retirement, you’ve more than earned it.
