Your child is more than a diagnosis.
More than a symptom.
More than a checklist.

They’re a whole human, and they deserve care that sees the whole picture. 🤍

Did your sweet child become a teenager and suddenly you teel like you don’t recognize them anymore?

You’re not imagining it, there’s a lot happening beneath the surface.

During the teen years, hormone shifts can influence the gut microbiome, increase inflammation, impact mood, energy, focus, and even contribute to a higher toxic burden on the body.

What looks like attitude, anxiety, fatigue, skin issues, or emotional ups and downs may be your teen’s body asking for support.

At Freeland Pediatrics, we take a root-cause approach to help teens thrive from the inside out.

📆 Schedule an appointment with us today and let’s help your teen navigate these important years with confidence.

Disclaimer: Every teen is unique, and symptoms can have many causes. A personalized evaluation is important to understand what’s contributing to your child’s health concerns

Anxiety isn’t always something we need to “push through.” Sometimes the body needs gentle support.

The Heart 7 (Shen Men) acupressure point is a simple technique that may help encourage relaxation and nervous system regulation. Try holding this point for 30–60 seconds while taking slow, deep breaths.

Have you ever tried acupressure for stress or anxiety? Let us know below! 👇

🚦 Is your child’s nervous system stuck in “survival mode”?

A dysregulated nervous system can show up as anxiety, meltdowns, trouble sleeping, sensory sensitivities, difficulty focusing, frequent tummy aches, and even a weakened immune system.

The goal isn’t just to manage symptoms, it’s to help the body feel safe, connected, and regulated.

Simple ways to support a healthy nervous system:
✨ Prioritize quality sleep
✨ Get outside daily
✨ Reduce screen time
✨ Focus on nutrient-dense foods
✨ Encourage movement and play
✨ Create predictable routines
✨ Spend time connecting face-to-face

When the nervous system feels safe, children can thrive physically, emotionally, and mentally. 💛

Glyphosate is hiding in more foods than most parents realize 🌾⚠️

From conventionally grown produce to grains and processed snacks, everyday exposure can add up over time. One simple step? Start by washing your produce well and checking the Dirty Dozen list to know which foods are most important to buy organic when possible 🍓🥬

Parenting is not about perfection.
Every small step toward wellness matters.
I’d love to hear what your family is focusing on right now 👇

What’s one small change you’ve made as a parent that ended up making a big difference for your family? 🤍👇
Parenting is already hard enough without feeling like you need to change your entire life overnight. 🤍

The truth is… it’s the small shifts that add up.

Choosing one better snack.
Getting outside a little more.
Reading labels a little closer.
Swapping one product at a time.

You do not have to be perfect to make a difference in your child’s health.

Little intentional choices, done consistently, can create big change over time.

Give yourself grace. Parenting was never meant to be all or nothing. ✨

You stopped accepting “normal” just because everyone else did.

You started asking deeper questions. Reading labels. Rethinking routines. Looking beyond temporary fixes and searching for real answers.

And somewhere along the way, your view of health changed.

You realized healing isn’t always about covering symptoms,
it’s about understanding the bigger picture:

Nutrition, environment, sleep, nervous system health, gut health, lifestyle, and the small everyday choices that add up over time.

Once you start learning more, it’s hard to unsee it.
And honestly? You’re not alone.

So many parents are waking up to the idea that there can be a more intentional, supportive, root-cause approach to health and wellness.

Welcome to the Freeland Pediatrics way of thinking.
A place where questions are welcomed, families are heard, and care goes deeper. ✨

Mouth breathing is often dismissed as “normal” in children… but it’s actually a sign that something deeper may be going on.

Chronic mouth breathing can impact sleep quality, focus, behavior, facial development, oral health, and even overall growth over time.

At Freeland Pediatrics, we take a deeper look with oral assessments to help identify possible airway concerns, tongue ties, enlarged tonsils/adenoids, poor oral function, and other root causes that may need further evaluation or treatment.

Early intervention matters ✨
If your child snores, sleeps with their mouth open, grinds their teeth, has dark circles, restless sleep, or always seems congested, it may be worth looking into.

It’s interesting how quickly parents get labeled for not going along with the nonstop snacks, sugar, and ultra-processed foods, as if setting limits means you’re doing something wrong.

But really… since when did being mindful about your child’s health become something to defend?

Saying no isn’t taking something away, it’s creating boundaries with purpose.
It’s thinking about how food impacts their behavior, their sleep, their focus, and the habits they’re forming for years to come, not just the quick excitement of something that wears off just as fast.

And it’s not always comfortable.
Being the parent who does things differently can feel isolating. It would be easier to just go with the flow.

But parenting was never meant to be about what’s easiest, it’s about what’s right for your child.

Sometimes love looks like holding the line.
Sometimes it looks like being questioned.
Sometimes it looks like making choices today that only make sense later.
