Please share to help find Paco a foster. He is being dewormed and should be hookworm negative soon. He was saved from neglect once and shouldn’t know the inside of a shelter. Help us find him a safe place to land.

If you do any cat transport or community cat care, please read this PSA. Make sure to disinfect your carriers and any bedding used. Plus please please make sure your cats are vaccinated. We can carry this virus on our hands/shoes/clothes and expose indoor cats too. We have seen panleuk exposed cats and the virus is devastating to unvaccinated cats and kittens.

The PBC community is seeing more cases of Feline Panleukopenia (FPV) than usual. This virus is causing very serious illness and, in some cases, sudden death. Both kittens and adult cats can get sick.

The virus is transmitted by f***s or vomit and can persist in an environment for months if not cleaned properly. The virus can be inactivated by disinfection and hand washing. Hand sanitizer does not affect this organism.

While it is common for cases of FPV to arise every year, a new strain that has become prevalent is affecting a large population of cats both in the shelter and out in the community.

Symptoms of FPV include not eating, vomiting, diarrhea (it may have blood in it), acting very tired or weak, not drinking enough water or looking dehydrated, and losing weight. If your cats have any of these signs, get veterinary care right away. Cats with this disease can become very sick very quickly, and some may not survive. A list of low-cost veterinary clinics can be found at pbc.gov/animal

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
Clementine - 7 month old brindle mixed breed spayed female, fully up to date on vaccines. Will most likely be 25-30lbs full grown.

This little girl had a rough start to life and is finally ready to find her forever home. Just like her name suggests, she is sweet and is sure to make you smile. She is very energetic and can play for hours, but is also super loving and affectionate when she is comfortable. Will cuddle right up for a nap give lots of kisses when her puppy battery needs a re-charge.

Clementine loves other dogs and would benefit from a home with another outgoing dog to help bring out her confidence. She enjoys various water activities and is always up for a classic game of fetch. She is still working on potty training, but is very comfortable in the crate and also travels well in the car.

Initial greetings with unfamiliar people/things can be scary and she is more trusting of women over men. With some patience and reassurance, she does warm up and is sure to find her way into your heart.

If you are interested in Clementine and would like to set up a meet and greet, please visit kellysfosters.com to submit an application or email [email protected]
