In her own words…
My Yoga journey began unexpectedly in 2002, when a friend persuaded me to attend my first yoga class at a gym. Little did I know then that it would be a life-changing event.
My first exposure was to the Sivananda lineage at the Yoga and Inner Peace studio. Feeling an immediate connection, I decided to dive deeper by taking the teacher training program to learn more, with no intention of teaching - famous last words for many yoga teachers!
I completed my 200-hour YTT in 2005, and as a new teacher, it was required that I teach a class. I haven’t stopped teaching since that day! Since then, as an E-RYT 500, I have completed thousands of hours of additional training, including Vinyasa, Chair Yoga, Trauma-Informed yoga, Kids’ Yoga, and many specialized workshops.
In 2021, I became an Ayurvedic Practitioner and opened Sunveda Wellness. I integrate Yoga, Ayurveda, pranayama, and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) in my teaching and private client work.
For me, teaching yoga is an immense privilege, and I feel blessed to share what I love. My classes are a conglomerate of all that I have studied and the gems from all the wonderful teachers I have encountered along the way. To make these ancient practices universally accessible and relatable is my mission, as I believe that there is no one who cannot practice and benefit from yoga.
