Governors for the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery. He is the only Doctor in the area who has taken the İSHRS pledge to perform the surgery and not to illegally delegate to assistants. His office strives to ensure the highest level of customer
service and ethical care. He is regarded as one who does not always cut on every patient as alternatives to surgery exist in skin cancer therapy. This is one reason he was awarded the Most Compassionate Doctor Award. Dr. Mejia’s training is extensive having a degree in biomedical engineering, fellowship in hair transplantation surgery, and a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical
School and the University of Kansas Medical Center Dermatology Residency Program. He is a
member of a variety of distinguished societies including the American Academy of Dermatology,
International Society for Hair Restoration Surgeons, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society for Mohs Surgery, American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. Dr. Mejia has performed thousands of Mohs and plastic surgery reconstructions. His patients comment on his excellent cosmetic results with the inability to recognize many of the surgeries that he has done. Dr. Mejia is one of the only MD’s in the nation that is Board Certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Hair Restoration surgery having
done an extensive Fellowship in hair transplantation. His patients comment on how hairdressers
do not even notice the hair transplantation surgeries. This is due to the fine artistic results with
density that is done to restore natural hairlines. He is on the cutting-edge of utilizing platelet rich
plasma or PRP and ACell extracellular matrix proteins, in an attempt to stimulate hair regrowth
by the addition of growth factors and possible stimulation of stem cells in the scalp. He utilizes a
variety of different follicular unit strip techniques as well as follicular unit extractions to maximize
the number of hairs in one session and to provide the best cosmetic results in the donor area. He is a faculty instructor for other physicians at both the dermatology and hair transplant conventions. Dr. Mejia is one of the few selected hair restoration surgeons featured on a live
CNN interview focusing on hair loss and hair transplant treatment options. Being an expert at skin and facial anatomy Dr. Mejia has a variety of lasers and cosmetic services to help with skin rejuvenation and restoration. He utilizes the Active and Deep Fx
Fractional C02 treatment to provide the best and safest in skin resurfacing, as well as the Light
Sheer Diode for hair removal and the Intense Pulse Light to treat a variety of pigment and
