It is with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of our dear friend, mentor, and one of the very first therapists who believed in me and in the vision of Nori Kohana. Celeste Magnani

Without her, our journey would not have been the same. She helped shape the heart of our clinic and generously shared the art of lomi lomi along with the Hawaiian values of aloha, respect, and caring for our community. As someone who came to Hawaii from another culture, I will always be grateful for everything she taught me. None of us would be here offering the services we do today if it weren’t for her guidance and belief in us.

Outside of work, she became family. We shared meals, laughter, celebrations, and difficult times. She was a mentor, a big sister, and a dear friend to so many.

She courageously battled breast cancer, and we all celebrated when she overcame it, found love, got married, and began a beautiful new life in Europe. Heartbreakingly, the illness eventually took her from us, and hearing she passed so far away has been incredibly difficult to process.

I wanted to share this sad news because she touched so many lives. If you are able, please send her light, love, and prayers on her journey. Her kindness, wisdom, and aloha will forever live onin our hearts and through everyone she inspired.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR MASSAGE TRAINING CLASSES
Nori Kohana Massage Therapy & Academy is looking for volunteer practice bodies for our Level 1 Massage Training Program.
Available Dates: • Thursday, June 18, 2026 • Monday, June 22, 2026
We are looking for 2 volunteers for each class.
Class Schedule: • Volunteer check-in: 6:15 PM • Practice session: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM • Feedback and wrap-up: until approximately 7:40 PM
Please note: • This is NOT an intern massage clinic. • These students are currently in our Level 1 training program and have not yet entered the apprenticeship/internship phase. • The purpose of the class is to support student learning in body mechanics, pacing, communication, positioning, and foundational techniques. • This is an educational setting, not a customized massage session. • Volunteers should be comfortable supporting student learning and providing respectful, constructive feedback. • Professional boundaries and respectful communication are expected at all times. • Volunteers will complete a brief consent form before class and a feedback form after the session.
*not suitable for pregnancy or serious medical conditions
How to apply: • Please send a DM on Instagram only (no Facebook messages or emails). • Include your full name, phone number, and preferred date.
We will accept the first 4 volunteers who are a good fit for the class. Once spots are filled, the request will be closed. If you are not selected, please understand that no response means you were not chosen for this time. You are welcome to apply again for future classes.

Our current license course is now going into the 4th week, and students have had the opportunity to practice on their family members and fellow students. Mahalo to their Ohana for coming and participating — it has been such valuable hands-on practice for everyone, and we truly appreciate the support and trust throughout this journey 🙏✨
