Did you know? Skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes are not quite the same.

Skilled nursing provides physician-directed medical care and rehabilitation after an illness, injury, or surgery. Nursing homes primarily provide ongoing help with daily living.

Skilled nursing stays are often short-term and recovery-focused (though can be ongoing to treat chronic conditions,) while nursing home care is usually long-term.

🌸✨ Skilled Nursing Home Week is officially in full bloom at MediLodge of Westwood! ✨🌸

We kicked off the celebration with Muu Muu Monday, where staff came dressed in their favorite pajamas and muu muus for a fun and cozy start to the week! 💕🛏️

Team members also enjoyed delicious dirt pudding cups provided by Transitions Hospice—thank you for the sweet treat! 🍫🌼

Throughout the day, staff participated in our “Find the Flower” activity, searching for hidden flowers around the building and turning them in for prizes! 🌸🎉

We are so grateful for our incredible team who bring joy, compassion, and dedication to our residents every single day. 💛

We can’t wait to continue the fun tomorrow with Twin Day, where staff will dress up as their favorite resident—stay tuned for more “Moments in Bloom”! 🌷✨

Day 2 of Skilled Nursing Week at MediLodge of Westwood was twice the fun for Twin Day! 👯💙

Our staff had a blast dressing like some of their favorite residents and sharing plenty of laughs, smiles, and special moments together. We also enjoyed delicious twin pops provided by Interim Hospice! 🍭✨

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make today so memorable for our residents and team.

Tomorrow, we’re turning up the sunshine for 🌺 Aloha Day 🌺. Staff are invited to wear their favorite Hawaiian attire and enjoy a fresh yogurt and fruit bar! 🍍🥥🍓
