Office Hours Update + Communication Reminder

To better serve our patients while supporting a healthy and sustainable work environment for our team, SWMI Health Matters will now have updated office phone hours:

Monday–Thursday: 9 AM – 4 PM
Friday-Sunday: Closed

We also want to clarify the purpose of our urgent messaging system for members.

✅ Appropriate urgent concerns may include:
• Chest pain or trouble breathing
• Severe medication reactions
• Concerning symptoms where you are questioning the ER or urgent care
• Significant changes in blood pressure or blood sugar
• Acute symptoms that feel unsafe to wait on

🚫 Non-urgent concerns include:
• Last-minute refill requests
• Scheduling or rescheduling appointments
• Administrative questions
• Routine follow-up questions

We kindly ask that non-urgent matters be addressed during normal business hours whenever possible. Setting these boundaries helps us remain available and responsive for patients experiencing truly urgent medical needs.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our beloved Batman. 🖤

Many of you knew him as one of the therapy dogs at SWMI Health Matters — always ready to offer quiet comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. Whether he was greeting patients, sitting nearby during difficult moments, or simply bringing calm to the office with his presence, Batman touched more lives than we could ever fully express.

He was also almost always somewhere nearby snoring in the background during appointments, coaching sessions, phone calls, and quiet moments around the office — a sound that became oddly comforting and familiar to all of us. His presence made SWMI Health Matters feel even more like home.

Animals have such a beautiful way of helping us feel safe, seen, and loved, and Batman did that effortlessly every single day.

Our hearts are heavy as we navigate this loss, but we are deeply grateful for the years, memories, laughter, healing moments, and background snores we shared with him.

Thank you to everyone who loved him alongside us.

Run free, sweet Batman. You were such a good boy, and you will always be part of the heart of SWMI Health Matters. 🐾🖤

Join us at SWMI Health Matters for a special Open House & Meet + Greet as we welcome our newest Nurse Practitioner, Ashley Espinosa 💛

Ashley is a Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of clinical experience in urgent care and geriatric medicine. She is passionate about helping patients optimize their health through movement, nutrition, metabolic health, and lifestyle-centered care.

She takes a whole-person approach to medicine, with strong interests in functional medicine, hormone health, and preventative care. Ashley enjoys helping patients better understand their bodies and take an active role in their wellness. She also serves on the YWCA governance board and is a Certified Personal Trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine.
