A meaningful reminder that Mother’s Day can hold many emotions and many different experiences. Thinking of all those whose journey through motherhood includes joy, grief, hope, and resilience.
Mother’s Day doesn’t only belong to the moms holding babies.
It belongs to the women holding ultrasound photos tucked away in drawers because looking hurts but letting go hurts more.
It belongs to the women holding ashes, memory boxes, hospital bracelets, and names nobody else says out loud anymore.
It belongs to the women holding negative pregnancy tests after months… or years… of hoping this would finally be the one.
It belongs to the women holding their breath through another pregnancy, terrified that loving this baby too loudly might somehow jinx it.
It belongs to the women holding everyone else together while quietly falling apart themselves.
Because motherhood was never only defined by who gets to tuck a child into bed tonight.
Sometimes motherhood looks like grief.
Sometimes it looks like waiting.
Sometimes it looks like loving someone the world never got to meet.
And every version of that motherhood matters. 🤍
