Would they tell you how they really feel about bath time? Expose everything you do when nobody's watching? Or finally explain why they stare at the wall at 3am? πŸ˜‚

The New World Screwworm has been confirmed in Texas livestock and a pet dog. This is not a drill β€” and if you've been following me, you know I covered this over a year ago on Episode 1 of Controversial Animal Topics.

Six confirmed cases as of June 9th, spanning Zavala, La Salle, and Gillespie Counties in Texas, plus Lea County, New Mexico. A leading veterinary parasitologist is already calling this a reestablishment, not an isolated incident.

Here's what you need to know right now:
β€” Any wound that smells foul and is getting worse, not better
β€” Visible larvae in or around a wound or body opening
β€” Rapid tissue destruction in a newborn animal (umbilical site especially)
β€” Behavioral changes: restlessness, pawing at a wound, sudden lethargy

This affects livestock, wildlife, and your pets. If you're in the South or Southwest, this is active. If you travel with animals, this matters to you too.
Swipe for the full breakdown, then go listen to Episode 1 β€” link in comment.

🐾 Understanding Stasis Breaker

In Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), some conditions are viewed through the lens of circulation and tissue movement. When circulation becomes impaired, areas of "stagnation" may develop within the body.

Stasis Breaker is a traditional Chinese herbal formula commonly used to support healthy circulation and tissue movement in dogs, cats, and horses.

It is often selected when supporting:
βœ”οΈ Nodules and masses
βœ”οΈ Swelling
βœ”οΈ Areas of stagnation
βœ”οΈ Healthy circulation
βœ”οΈ Overall tissue health

Herbal medicine is not a one-size-fits-all approach. The best recommendations are based on your pet's complete health history, current concerns, and individual needs.

Interested in learning whether herbal support may be appropriate for your pet?

🐴 HORSE SORING: THE TRUTH. THE IMPACT. THE CHANGE.

What happens when winning becomes more important than welfare?

In this episode of Controversial Animal Topics, Dr. Turnera Croom sits down with veterinary student Elise Reismeier to discuss one of the most debated issues in the equine world: horse soring.

Together, they explore:

β€’ The history of horse soring
β€’ Animal welfare concerns
β€’ Veterinary ethics
β€’ Enforcement challenges
β€’ The future of reform and advocacy

This is an honest conversation about an issue that continues to impact horses, owners, trainers, veterinarians, and the industry as a whole.

πŸŽ™ Available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, and other major podcast platforms.

πŸ’¬ What are your thoughts on horse soring and the future of equine welfare?

I think every dog parent has had this moment.

You carefully choose the food. You measure the portions. You serve a perfectly good meal.

Then your dog finds a stick.

Meet Denise, the first character from Pet Parent Tribes. 🐾

Has your dog ever ignored their food for something completely ridiculous?
