Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day carries both gratitude and grief, and for many, it may also bring up personal memories of loss, sacrifice, trauma, or loved ones who served.

As we gather with family and friends today, may we also make space for reflection, compassion, and remembrance.

To military families, veterans, and those carrying invisible wounds of service and loss, we see you, and we hold space for you today.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and gentle Memorial Day. ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who mother in ways seen and unseen. 💛

Today, we celebrate:
• The moms raising little ones day by day
• The mothers carrying the grief of angel babies
• The foster mamas, adoptive mamas, and bonus moms
• The women longing to become mothers
• The grandmothers, caregivers, and maternal figures who show up with love
• The exhausted moms doing their best
• The single moms carrying so much on their shoulders
• The mothers healing while still nurturing others

Motherhood is not one-size-fits-all, and this day can hold both joy and pain. Whatever today looks like for you, we see you, honor you, and are holding space for your story.

Wishing you gentleness, love, and moments of peace today. 🌷

This Black History Month, we honor the strength, resilience, brilliance, and humanity of Black individuals and communities…past and present. 🖤

Black history is not only a story of survival in the face of injustice, but also one of creativity, leadership, healing, and joy. It reminds us of the importance of being seen, heard, and valued in spaces meant for growth and care.

In counseling, we recognize that mental health does not exist in a vacuum. Historical trauma, systemic inequities, and lived experiences matter and they deserve acknowledgment, compassion, and culturally responsive care.

This month and always, we stand committed to creating a safe, affirming space where Black voices are honored, stories are respected, and healing is supported. ✨

The words we use (out loud and in our own minds) matter more than we realize. They don’t just describe our experiences; they shape them.

When our language is constantly negative (“I can’t,” “This always goes wrong,” “I’m terrible at this”), our brain learns to scan for evidence that confirms those beliefs. Over time, negativity becomes the default, not because life is always negative, but because our mind has been trained to look for it.

The good news? Brains are teachable.

By intentionally changing our words, we can change our perspective.
“I can’t” becomes “I’m learning.”
“This is awful” becomes “This is hard, but temporary.”
“I always mess up” becomes “I made a mistake, and I can grow from it.”

This isn’t about toxic positivity or pretending things don’t hurt. It’s about choosing language that leaves room for growth, resilience, and hope. When we speak with more compassion we train our brain to be less reactive, less critical, and less stuck in negativity.

Small shifts in words lead to big shifts in mindset.
And mindset changes everything.

Lately, the weight of the world is heavy on all of us.

The news is relentless. Expectations keep piling up. Many people are carrying quiet grief, uncertainty, anger, exhaustion, or fear while still being asked to show up, perform, parent, work, and hold it together.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, tense, numb, or emotionally drained, you’re not broken. You’re responding normally to an abnormal amount of stress.

This is your reminder that self-care isn’t selfish or indulgent ✨it’s intentional and necessary✨
Caring for yourself doesn’t mean ignoring what’s happening around you. It means tending to your nervous system so you can stay present, grounded, and resilient.

Self-care can look like:
• Setting boundaries with media and people
• Resting without guilt
• Saying no when your capacity is full
• Letting yourself feel instead of pushing through
• Asking for support instead of carrying it alone

You don’t have to do everything. You don’t have to fix everything. And you don’t have to go through this season by yourself.

If the weight feels like too much, therapy can be a space to slow down, unpack what you’re holding, and learn how to care for yourself with intention and compassion.

You matter. Your well-being matters. Especially now. 🤍

New Year, Renewed Priorities

Did you set any resolutions this year?

Often as we enter into a new year, many of us have thought about or planned a resolution… things we want to change, improve, or let go of. While goals around productivity, finances, or routines are important, we want to gently remind you of something foundational:

👉 Your mental, emotional, and physical health matter.

Scripture reminds us that our bodies and minds are gifts from God, entrusted to our care. When we prioritize our well-being, we are better equipped to love others, show up for our families, and walk fully in our purpose.

This year, consider resolutions that:
• Protect your peace
• Strengthen your emotional health
• Support your physical well-being
• Create space for rest, reflection, and healing

Seeking support is not a sign of weakness, it’s an act of wisdom and faith. Caring for yourself allows you to be more present, grounded, and aligned with who God created you to be.

✨ If making your health a priority is part of your New Year’s intention, we would be honored to walk alongside you.
