Residents were inspired by guest speaker Alexis McCullough, Eagle Scout and Miss Chicago's Teen, who shared her journey of raising over $120,000 to build the Gold Star Families Memorial in Bourbonnais honoring her late father and fellow servicemembers. From competing for Miss Illinois' Teen to heading to Washington DC for Memorial Day weekend with Gold Star Families right after graduation, Alexis reminded us all what dedication and heart can accomplish.

Grace Christian Academy - Kankakee talented 7th and 8th graders, led by conductor Lydia Most, filled our community with beautiful music — including the iconic Theme from Jurassic Park.
